I think it's great when people are aware of injustice and care about injustice.

When they get performative and preachy about it, I'm out.

Like, how hard is it just to set an example through your own words and actions? Why do people always have to be trying to control other people's words and actions?

"Wokeness" is just a new religion, and I have as little respect for its vocal proponents as I do for those who push religion on others.

That's pretty much how I feel about it.

On one hand I agree that awareness, tolerance, and diversity is very important. However, people get so fucking catty and aggressive about it to the point they don't actually want positive change, they just want the moral high ground. They WANT people to remain ignorant so they can have some receipts to write callout posts on tumblr.

They only care about stuff on a surface level not out of an actual drive to educate people and make the world a more tolerant place.

Like, for fucks sake, even if some problematic person sees the error or their ways and tries to apologize they still get called scum. They don't want to believe people can change.

you can be an asshole and also genuinely want positive social change and an end to injustice at the same time

Wanting and doing are to separate things. I want to be cool, stylish, and well liked, but take a wild guess on what I'm doing this Friday night.
