The hell do sequels have to do with fandom? Coporations don't base their decisions to make a sequel based on how many fanfics it has or how big their subreddit is.

It is based on how many tickets they sell. And I guarantee the vast majority of people of people who see MCU/Harry Potter/Transformers movies are in any kind of fandom.
