this fictional 37 year old man is vulnerable minor UWUUUU or a fictional 17 year old dating a 19 year old is now child porn!!!

AO3 has sexual content involving characters who actually are children

So how is this relevant at all to what we're talking about!!!

The people who hunt down and report porn of actual children are begging you not to tie up resources in reports about fictional children.

Look, I'm not disagreeing with you about the fictional part. I'm saying, why do we keep dragging the "antis think everything is pedophilia" argument into this, when AO3 has content that anyone would agree is pedophilia?

DA

"when AO3 has content that anyone would agree is pedophilia?"

Point. But the thing is, so do lots of places. I've seen stories that suddenly dove into 12-year-olds banging on ff.net, for all it claims to eschew such things. Steven King's "It" was in my high school library when I was a kid. And neither of those stories were up front about their contents so I could avoid them. You know what place has a robust tagging and rating system so I *can* avoid that shit? The archive we're discussing. So I support AO3, even as it hosts content I personally disapprove of. Okay?

" AO3 has content that anyone would agree is pedophilia?"

No, not anyone would agree. Most people will probably find works depicting minors in sexual situation on the site in poor taste (I know I do, which is why I stay away from them), but we are still talking about fiction. Let's not muddy the whatever by calling fictional works "pedophilia" when real children are being harmed right now as we speak to make real pedophilia content for real pedophile, c'mon

What you don't get is that for every person who has an issues with actual pedophilic content, there are at least two antis who use the "pedophilia" screeching for any ship they dislike, no matter if it makes sense or not. It's not that hard.

That's not illegal. It's fictional.

Not something I want to read when it comes to fanworks, but Lolita's for sale at your neighborhood bookstore, too.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-31 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
because you can buy Lolita at your local bookstore and no one is running to the FBI screaming shut down the establishment. And a lot of books you read for school have underage sexual content but no one is running to the FBI about these fictional children exploring their fictional sexuality.

It’s not real. No one cares.

stephen king wrote about a bunch of 12 year olds in an orgy and somehow he hasn't been arrested or investigated by the fbi or any of that nonsense now i wonder why that is
