Every time I hear or see the word "quagmire", I think "giggity giggity".

Bonus secret: sometimes I say it aloud.

(Family Guy secret, there's a character named Quagmire.)

I'm genuinely looking forward to the She-Ra reboot, but I'm also looking forward to seeing antis cry betrayal and drag it through the mud when it doesn't live up to the pedestal of perfect pure unproblematic wokeness they've already put it upon. But I'm also not looking forward to them bullying the staff about it.

Spite is hard.

This is going to make an excellent secret, thank you!

Same here, anon. I'll be happy to see them (hopefully) disappear from the Voltron fandom, but I fear for the fans who're just gonna want to enjoy it and do fanwork in peace.

I'm a fan of Buzzfeed Unsolved and I wish I could find other fans to talk about it with who aren't weirdo RPF-types. Like I enjoy goofy headcanons of Shane being a demon or Ricky Goldsworth and Hot Daga fanart but...where are the people going "Boy wouldn't it be cool for the guys to do an episode on the St. Valentine's Day Massacre/the Princes in the Tower/Peter Bergmann!"

This will make a great secret, thank you! Also, I totally need to get into this because I loved unsolved mysteries.

from what i can tell those types are mostly in the youtube comments, there are also some tumblr blogs that are just about giffing the show and aren't into the RPF side of things so you might be to strike them up into that kind of convo.

but i'm also not into this fandom, i just watch the videos and leave it at that.

Thanks, secret makers!

I feel like I could’ve liked Reylo if Kylo had any good qualities that weren’t his looks.

On a semi related note, Kylo Ren is not Darcy and Rey is not Elizabeth. I don’t even like Darcy, but if he’d burned down Pemberley, murdered most of his tenants, run off to, idk, fight for the French?, and later run Georgiana through in front of Lizzie, Pride and Prejudice would’ve been a very different book with a very different ending.

I kind of like Kylo Ren despite his lack of good qualities but this cracked me up anyway. (Sorry, not a secret maker myself.)

I'm kind of in the same boat. Well, actually, I'm in the boat where 40% of me ships it (cuz of the mind link and sexy fight scene mostly), while the other 60% screams "WHAT, ARE YOU FUCKING NUTS? HE'S THE WORST!"

Now I want to read a version of Pride and Prejudice that's like this, LMAO

I just read the latest Dresden Files short story collection, but between the main series serious grimdark infestation and what I hope is not but fear is Butcher’s obsession with guns, boobs, and honorable killers, since it shows up even in stories where Harry’s not the viewpoint charcter, I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I’d like. I can see why the Puppies nominated his stuff, even though I still like the earlier books.

This will make a great secret, thanks!

What you say is has some truth to it, but honestly I think a big part of that was that the Puppies wanted to be seen as a force that could influence the Hugos. They embarrassed the shit out of themselves by nominating their own (mediocre, less popular) books the previous year, so they wanted to nominate some big name popular authors both so they could point at them and say, "See? This is what we mean by good sci-fi/fantasy with lots of action and adventure no icky lady-feelings!" and because they knew someone like Butcher was a bestseller and kind of a ringer... unlike their previous nominees.

It was ridiculous and pathetic, but that's the Puppies for ya.

I love Terry Pratchett’s books, but mostly I feel like the movies and miniseries made from them so far have been too... idk... whimsical? Knowingly quirky? Toned down? Like they emphasize the wrong things? I don’t even know what an adaptation would have to do to make me love it, other than “something different.”

Since Game of Thrones got big, I’ve kind of been wanting a Pern TV series, but I feel like any adaptation these days would double down on the sexism and violence because it’s more “realistic” and to appeal to GoT viewers, nevermind that it has time travelling, fire breathing, telepathic dragons and talking dolphins. Fuck sexism (thinly) disguised as realism.

My fandom makes it really easy to write both magical and non magical AUs. I’m more interested in magical AUs, but most people write non-magical AUs or ones where magic is incidental. It seems like most of the people who write magical AUs are worse writers, but maybe that’s just because writing coffee-shop AUs is less challenging to do well.

I’m always gonna be sad that the likelihood of Guillermo del Toro directing an adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera is vanishingly small. He’s one of the only directors I can think of where even if I didn’t agree with him about his choices, I’d probably still love the movie.

I love the Deadpool movies so far, but I worry that the next one will either leave Vanessa fridged despite the credits scene, or find a way to fridge her or put her on a bus again. And yeah, I know she played a different role in the comics.

At first I was just amused at the wink to Sans/Toriel shippers Toby Fox made in Delta Rune. Now I'm deeply annoyed because despite Sans immediately saying he was kidding, people still insist it means Soriel is canon. It's everywhere in fandom as it is, why do you need it to be canon?

B!S: If you're fine with artists getting fed needles in a cookie, you don't deserve to have your ship made canon.

Its been bothering me for so long, and I can't just not say it anymore... but I am fairly certain Dumbledick chose that wand because of its shape, rather than its power...
Ever since I found out he was gay. (but really, right as soon as I began to play the HP: Mysteries app, since I never took too much interest in the series beforehand.) I saw that wand, and just knew he used that thing as anal beads...
I might phrase this as a joke, but hell if I'm not completely serious with this shit;; (like really though, I can't stop thinking about it;;)

Ugh, I suck at this.
