Probably Sherlock, for me. I mean, Harry Potter and Star Wars almost certainly reached far crazier heights of fan whack, but I managed to avoid most of that, whereas Sherlock (and good old 'there's a secret fourth episode that will make this not suck!!!') seemed to be such concentrated bullshit it was almost entrancing...

I loved - and still love - the Sherlock fandom for how much awesome fanfic and fanart it has to offer. But yeah, it went off the rails in such a major and protracted way, and the conspiracy-theory obsession that many fans had with TJLC was definitely bizarre and unnerving to observe.

I shipped Johnlock as hard as anyone, but I just never got on board with any of the TJLC stuff.
