What is something you purposely cook wrong/different from the directions?

I always overcook my fries and chicken nuggets. I like then to be extra crunchy.

I'm with you. I wouldn't say I ovrecook them, but I prefer my fries and fried food in general on the more crunchy side.

On the other hand, I often slightly underdo my waffles because waffles just taste better that way. Also pancakes sometimes.

Ramen. I put only enough water to cover the noodles and then I dump most of the water out.

I'm with you. But I do that with canned soup too. Not all the water/liquid, but a bunch of it.

I didn't even know you were supposed to put more water in canned soup until I was much older!

Isn't canned soup without added water really thick? The stuff looks pretty solid in the can. I always add the amount said to add to get the texture right and then dump half of it.

I overcook salmon because I prefer the dry overcooked texture to the still squishy half raw texture it's supposed to be eaten at. Some other fish as well.

When I'm making lunches to take to work, I undercook the veggies so they don't turn to overcooked mush when I re-heat everything in the microwave.
