Okay, so here we go. Just a little thing, but fun, plus you get stuff. :D And before anyone asks, don't worry, we don't want to know who has like the deepest, darkest secret or anything like that. The point of this is to boost fandomsecrets watchers/participation. We've tried to get word about the comm out there, but you know, we need your help. And so, a referral contest! How this works: 1. Grab people to join/watch/participate in the comm. Spam f-lists, post in comms that might be relevant, anything you can think of! New people submitting at least one secret is preferred, but hey, watchers are nice too! 2. Have them comment here with your lj username. They have to be logged in, but all comments are screened, so don't worry. 3. At the end of the month, March 31st, we'll count up how many people were referred by each person, and the top three get prizes. 1st picks first, 2nd picks second, 3rd gets whatever's left, it's pretty simple. :D Winners get a choice of: → $15 LJ gift certificate from benightedfate. (C'mon! Money!) → A choice of graphics/icon set/fan art by shahnichan. (She's good at it!) → Customized LJ layout/profile layout/anything requiring coding by grayout. Or fanfiction if you want, that works too. *dies* (This is pretty much the "Case gets to be your slave for a day" choice. I'm useful! I swear!) And that's it. Easy, right? Go! :D

7. Well, the reason I left is a long story, but the reason I left was BEFROE the fangirls destroyed it. I'll tell the full story if you don't mind walls of text

I was going to go back into it, really! Everyone I knew just LOVED it and rubbed in in my face how GOOD it was and made me just that much more bitter towards it. I was upset at first, but now I'm just glad to be out!

7. Walls of text is absolutely fine with me, if you don't mind telling me; I'm insanely curious now.

That's happened with me before, so I can sympathize; I just hope that doesn't happen with the KH fandom for me though. D: It sucks when people shove fandoms in your face and expect you to be all goo-goo gaga over it. ^^;;

Okay, so I when I heard Kingdom Hearts 2 was coming out I was all OMGYAY! about it and I promptly went and pre-ordered my copy. After doing that, I suddenly realized "Oh crap! I need to get my sister a birthday present!" I thought "Okay, she'll be graduated from school by the time KH2 comes out and I'll be nearing finals. I'll let her have it! :D" So I told her and she was all OMGYAY! about it too and I even wanted to borrow it after she was done. I was kinda strapped for cash (who isn't?) so I went and sold some old DVD's back to the game store and I at least got $20 for all of it. I was excited that when the day got there, I wouldn't have to pay so much to get my copy.

THE DAY ARRIVES. I go with my friend to pick up my copy (she was getting one too) and I get to the counter and I had to pay FULL PRICE. I was distraught and about to kill me a clerk when I just sucked it up and paid full price for the damn game. Then I had to send the game to my sister since she moved too far for me to just give it to her like I had planned. It took so long to get there, she ended up buying a copy for herself and re selling my copy to someone else.

THEN, EVERYONE ELSE IS PLAYING IT. Oh, they just have to tell me how great everything is and are just dying to tell me about certain plot elements they've reached and I was going to really try to get back into it, but I just couldn't. I just became so jaded from everyone that they ruined it for me.

It is sad that other people ruined something for me, but that's why I just can't get into certain things is other people. I really hope that it doesn't happen to any fandom you love oh so much for you. not QUITE as long as I originally thought it was going to be, but there you go!
