Notes:

Okay, so here we go. Just a little thing, but fun, plus you get stuff. :D

And before anyone asks, don't worry, we don't want to know who has like the deepest, darkest secret or anything like that. The point of this is to boost [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets watchers/participation. We've tried to get word about the comm out there, but you know, we need your help. And so, a referral contest!

How this works:

1. Grab people to join/watch/participate in the comm. Spam f-lists, post in comms that might be relevant, anything you can think of! New people submitting at least one secret is preferred, but hey, watchers are nice too!
2. Have them comment here with your lj username. They have to be logged in, but all comments are screened, so don't worry.
3. At the end of the month, March 31st, we'll count up how many people were referred by each person, and the top three get prizes. 1st picks first, 2nd picks second, 3rd gets whatever's left, it's pretty simple. :D

Winners get a choice of:

→ $15 LJ gift certificate from [livejournal.com profile] benightedfate. (C'mon! Money!)
→ A choice of graphics/icon set/fan art by [livejournal.com profile] shahnichan. (She's good at it!)
→ Customized LJ layout/profile layout/anything requiring coding by [livejournal.com profile] grayout. Or fanfiction if you want, that works too. *dies* (This is pretty much the "Case gets to be your slave for a day" choice. I'm useful! I swear!)

And that's it. Easy, right? Go! :D

1. There's nothing wrong with being a Christian and liking yaoi/yuri/whatever. I mean, the belief that the bible says that homosexuals are all going to hell is a pretty recent thing anyway. I could give a long rant about this, actually, but I'll spare you.

It amuses/saddens me that everyone gets so uptight about the gays, when there's other "rules to be followed" in the same damn place that everyone constantly breaks but will supposedly go to hell for as well. I wouldn't be surprised if those are edited out of the bible now just to suit today's "beliefs" (more like wants).

Religion makes me angry sometimes.

2. I think it's pretty bad now and yet... still strangely attached to it. >>

5. I kind of want to read the Snape/Giant Squid one now. *dies*

10. Agreed. XD

I'm totally not gonna win this contest, but I shall try anyway! :D

7. Apart from the obvious reasons, how come?

10. Ahaha, oh yes. There are some writers that can pull off euphemisms really, really well -- but the majority can't, and it's good for lulz. D:

What's that comic?

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 12:48 am (UTC)(link)

1. Being Christian doesn't mean you can't like shounen-ai. I consider myself a Christian and well ... we know my take on yaoi, and porn and well sex in general.

7. I don't blame you. I was never really in fandom, but I kind of liked the first game.

8. Ehm ... wut? Coming from someone who all but started the HojoxVincent following, what's so bad about it? I've never read it but whatever.

10. Years ago, my best friend and I read something concerning 'Harry's 12 inch wand' and then proceeded to wonder where the hell that 12 inch wand was going while holding a ruler up only to realize it was a 10 inch ruler. Good times.

You are so, so one of the lucky ones.

[personal profile] vangirl 2007-03-04 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Not the secret-maker, but I think she might be refering to anime where the shoujo-ai is canon (or I assume so since she has KNM, YamiBou and other such anime on the image.)

(Anonymous) 2007-03-04 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'll admit about the Het and Slash being similar, however when I see a pairing like that more than often I avoid it. It's easier to find less item pairings with those two.

It's the lack of good yuri anime/manga/fanfiction since you have to look for them like a needle in a haystack. My definition might be a bit different though, I did enjoy Marimite and Utena.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-04 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
7. Well, the reason I left is a long story, but the reason I left was BEFROE the fangirls destroyed it. I'll tell the full story if you don't mind walls of text

I was going to go back into it, really! Everyone I knew just LOVED it and rubbed in in my face how GOOD it was and made me just that much more bitter towards it. I was upset at first, but now I'm just glad to be out!

(Anonymous) 2007-03-04 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I like to see good writing in a fandom I'm in but at the sametime I don't want it to be pure fan service you know? And I was a bit vague, so that was also part of the misunderstanding.

I agree, and this manly person who enjoys Fist of the North Star.

[identity profile] rationalise.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
7. Walls of text is absolutely fine with me, if you don't mind telling me; I'm insanely curious now.

That's happened with me before, so I can sympathize; I just hope that doesn't happen with the KH fandom for me though. D: It sucks when people shove fandoms in your face and expect you to be all goo-goo gaga over it. ^^;;

[identity profile] jboogie.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
7. So, idle question.

Have you ever met this artist before? Or know the reason behind the comic? Because it makes me wonder how you could described her with the words you used. 'Sucks ass'? 'Sick freak'? If I had a nickel for the number of times somebody's run their mouth out of their ass without realizing what's really going on I'd be a damned millionaire.

Not liking something is cool. Harshing on somebody to somehow make yourself look bigger and better isn't. Respect is earned and respect is given. And right now you don't have much of it from me. But, you probably won't listen. Still I hope you learn even a little bit from this.

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
3. Most GL/yuri pairings are dull and forced. I have yet to see one that was actually interesting... although I pretty much feel the same way about BL/yaoi. XD;

8. Yes, as far as I've been told, Y!Gallery is made up of complete artards.

[identity profile] jboogie.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
That was for 8, not 7.

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
8) .... I don't care who you are, but if you have a problem with my comic, then say it to my face. Nobody's forcing you to read it. If you don't like it, then, y'know, there's a little thing on your browser called the 'back' button? Or, and here's a novel thought, you can just not click on the image! Normally I wouldn't give a damn, but this project is my baby and the one thing I put my heart and soul into. And if you have a personal beef with ME, then say so instead of trying to stir up drama.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
While I mean to ask the same question about what's so bad about it, are you saying you started the Hojo x Vincent fan following and we all couldn't have thought of it ourselves? (NOT sniping at you, just asking you to be careful on how you word things.)

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Of course they're not going to think of that, LT! They -want- the drama. Though what I find amusing is that this sounds more of an attack on you than on the comic.

[identity profile] roaring.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Not only that, but they say blended fabrics and polyester is evil. I think pork was for Christians for some time, as well. So was working on Sunday. And if you turn around when God tells you not to, you'll turn into salt. :P

[identity profile] roaring.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Going by all of those rules, I think we can safely say all of humanity is going to hell. But I'm especially evil because I'm gay. :3 FOOOOOOOOOOOO!

(Anonymous) 2007-03-04 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I don't wanna meet her, she's a sicko. Hojo on Vincent is sick and evryone knows Vincent was made for Cid. Not Reeve, he probably bangs his plushie or something. its all pointless ugly crap. I get tired of seeing it on peoples fav lists. And it's all rape, thats sick and that shows how sickk she is. And everyone knos that Vincent never let anything like that bother him any, Turks can take everythin.

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
*wishes she had one o' those bonkin' sticks* >>

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
They might want the drama, but I don't. As far as I'm concerned, they can keep it. And... actually, you're right. Did I piss someone off lately or something?
