Y’all are both cute and your spouses are lucky to be married to you :)

what if they're married to each other

That's not luck so much as it's normal.

If you're in a relationship right now, counselors are your friends.

Should be normal. The capitalistic, gender-essentialist hellhole I escaped from were full of unhappy marriages made up of people who resented their partners and saw them as status symbols and obstacles to overcome in pursuit of their own happiness.

I vowed that would never happen to me, I’d rather be alone than so lonely. So I do consider myself lucky to have someone I share my life with when I still look around and hear/see people who just don’t realize they’re so unhappy because they’ve never understood love isn’t some idyllic person coming along to fulfill your dreams and grant you self worth. Love is my elderly neighbor remembering to turn his wife’s favorite shows on for her, even though he hates them and complains bitterly to me about the plots and characters.

Um, no. I 100% agree with you that it's something to aspire to, and personally I think it's worth holding out for. But it's definitely not the norm. Of the married pairs I've known in my life, I'd say maybe one in five had this kind of abiding friendship with each other. The other four out of five don't even come close.
