I think most normal people would want to hurt, idk, someone who tortures puppies for fun. I'm not gonna go do it, most people wouldn't really go do it, but I'd be more weirded out by someone who didn't at least want to or didn't think they deserved a punch in the face, than someone who did.

I think there's somewhat of a distinction to be made between wanting to hurt someone, and wanting them to *suffer*. Not sure which side OP falls onto, but, yeah.

Lots of people do want others to suffer though, depending on what they've done. I don't find it weird and sociopathic for someone to want, for example, a child abuser to suffer.

I'd absolutely find it weird if they made it their mission to go and make it happen personally.

Yeah, this. A child abuser has caused other people to suffer so it's not that odd to feel like they should experience suffering in return. What would be weird would be, like you said, actually going out and doing it.
