9.) WORD ♥

[identity profile] corps.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
9.

I LOVE HANATARO! D: I DO NOT HIDE IT! I WILL FANGIRL WITH YOU!

[identity profile] volley.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
5. Agreed! All the guys look like steroid-poppers. Not cool.

9. HANA.

[identity profile] amazingjana.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
9. I'm a hardcore Hanatarou fan! :D

[identity profile] song-of-truth.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
8. I'm of the firm belief that anything someone picks up from fandom should only be used IRL, and then only sparingly. If someone ever writes "aibou" in an RP or fic, I'm totally out of there. However...it's totally legal among friends off-line, unless they do it so often you feel the urge to hurt them. Also, while the "yo" thing is occasionally forgivable, actual Japanese words are not. So, generally, word.

Rude Religions are vastly superior to Reno Religions, anyway.

[identity profile] song-of-truth.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
We should totally make a union. :D

[identity profile] song-of-truth.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, but what shall we call this wonderful union? I think the members should just be referred to as "Rude-ists" like you said, though. It has a nice ring to it.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-06 12:59 am (UTC)(link)

It drives me insane everytime I see that word. It's like I'm allergic to it. What's worse is over on Y! that's all they use. It's never partner or anything else, it's always 'My aibou' ... I didn't even know what the word meant and I've been a ShinRa fan for years now.

[identity profile] song-of-truth.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Advent Children spawned so many bad habits for the ShinRa sub-fandom....it's shameful. At least we're not the only ones absolutely loathing it, right?

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know what it meant either. I had to look it up in an English/Japanese dictionary.

I have to say that I think it's weird for Rude or Reno to use this word. I like the Rude/Reno pairing but where the heck would a slum rat come up with the word aibou? As for yo, I never have Reno say it. I don't conciously not use it, it just never gets used.

Don't get me on that subject - one time on a forum when someone was talking about a certain video game and we went by the english name then suddenly things are going around like Shishisenkou, Shikoumetsuryuusen, and Shikoubakusaijin.

Someone tries to ask for english, guess what an asshat says?

"Whats your point? Just learn the original names plzkthx."

That proves ultimately, people are dumbasses since some people don't have the damn Japanese version of the game. It doesn't make you anymore elitist. Argh. Just say Beast or whatever since they're all equivalant to that!

Partner - not really 'lover', but a lot of people pick up on the 'ai' inside there so... D:

[/Yuugiou fan]

[identity profile] subversive.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
1. Same here. Damn, I don't think I ever even made it past disc one. Or.. I might have made it to disc two, but probably only barely. :x Oops.

[6]

(Anonymous) 2007-03-06 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god, yes I love trying to do that. Of course I don't show it online or I'd be MAIMED.

[identity profile] levikitty.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
1. Agreed on the retarded-ness of Squall. He looks like he doesn't want Rinoa hugging him in that pic. XD

...really, the number one thing that kept me going in FFVIII was Zell. Number two was the awesome way Square did the Laguna x Raine relationship. It so totally should have been the main pairing since the whole Squall x Rinoa couple completely pales in comparison.

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
1. Ditto. I got lost somewhere and was too bored to figure out where I was going again. >>

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
1. I got pretty far along in it but then the whole Rinoa is the soceress and therefore she has to be watched etc. etc. etc. thing became so boring because I really didn't care about Rinoa in the first place.

[identity profile] levikitty.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
What makes me upset about that was that Rinoa actually had to be the potential to be a realistic, intriguing FF heroine until Square made her a Sue.

When you first meet her, she's a spoiled rich girl playing war. She has no idea what to do, and really seems to only be doing it to rebel against her father. She's surprised at Squall's harshness and how much more experienced and calm the rest of the party is.

...then she gets her Sorceress powers and everything goes down the drain.
ext_3302: What hasn't science done? (wtf reno y r u nakedz?)

[identity profile] 4ti3k4t35.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
1. Yeah. Me too. *sighs*

9. I LOVE HANA! Especially in the DotBM musical. So, so, so cute! ♥

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
1. Yes he does. I never liked that guy's artwork.

[identity profile] the-beanmaster.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
9. HANATAROU. <3<3<3<3
(deleted comment)

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not my secret but, OUTRAGEOUS. Jem fans! :D

[identity profile] chaoticchicken.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
1. I feel the same way. :/ Once he started randomly going berserk over Rinoa (WHO I HATE IN THE FIRST PLACE), I couldn't bear to finish it.

6. I adore crack pairings when people take the time to give them a history and a reason to be together outside of sex. You are therefore my hero.

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
1. Agreed. Horrible game. D:

5. HOLY CRAP, I'M NOT ALONE. XD I noticed this at my old job, working in a used Bookstore. When setting up the romance section, I took note that all of the guys on the covers were ugly like ass and were TOO buff to be stable boys. Seriously. D:

7. She would be better than any world leader at the moment. XD;

9. Hanatarou lacks fans. But I'm one. :D Look me up!

1

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I think I got to a certain point (when Squall starting obsessing over Rinoa) and decided that my FF8 discs was best used for setting down drinks on than actual playing. (though, I do love Irvine)

Re: 1

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, did ANYBODY finish FFVIII?

Re: 1

[identity profile] mercale.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
I did! Twice!

Re: 1

[identity profile] levikitty.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I finished.

But only because I wanted to see more of Laguna and Raine.

Re: 1

[identity profile] feeprinzessin.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I know I didn't XD

[identity profile] mercale.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
1. He DOES look stupid. Great game though, Nida is there!

6. Yes. I love that. Cactaur/Seph FOREVER!

7. She is kinda cool, isn't she?

[identity profile] gysecune.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
1. I actually did finish it. Squall does look funky in that picture, though. It crosses the line of "brooding" and goes right into "frowning Neanderthal." Maybe he's pissed he has to act straight. 8D

5. They're so...musclely and manly... Urk. I guess that's kind of the point. But still. It's like RAWR STEROIDS.

My mom reads the historical ones, and all the dudes on the cover wear breeches and have some sort of fancy white blouse that just happens to be wide open.

[personal profile] convault 2007-03-06 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
8. Not cool, yo! Yo is a valid translation of what Reno ends his sentences with. So it sounds cuter in Japanese. It's still a translation, one that gets the point across, and one that might have been translated in different ways, but it's valid.

It doesn't really matter how many people use 'aibou'! Nearly every word in Japanese is translateable, there's no reason for anyone not to completely use english, and criticizing someone else for using japanese when they do it themselves doesn't seem right =/

9

[identity profile] databomb.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, count me in on that fangirl-ship too! Looks like you've gathered quite a bit of attention for him with that secret anyway! XD

[identity profile] mccarthief.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
8: I think this is the point were I realize I really haven't been around all my old haunts when this sort of secret makes me go 'huh?' then 'That's probably happening at [insert fourm] *nods with wisdom of a goldfish*'

Probably didn't make any sense there but...yeah...

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 11:07 am (UTC)(link)
1. I finished it. Just to see Seifer laugh. ♥

2. You're not alone. I don't hate magic. I just hate how people abuse it. :)

3. I'm so with you. ._. IC =/= OOC people!

4. cuuuuuuute ♥ I don't have TIME to be online and chatting with others, s'why I can't contact anyone ;-;

6. That's the beauty of crossovers. ♥ One of my favorite crack pairings (ALL [livejournal.com profile] grayout's fault) is Cactuar x Sephiroth and another is Vincent x Tonberry. And I know he'll somehow make them work and break my brain.

8. Reno's "~zotto" is pretty untranslateable directly into the english language without being anything more than a 'yo' or 'y'know'. Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin gets his 'de gozaru' translated as a repeat statement, and Chichiri from Fushigi Yugi gets his 'no da' become 'ya know'.

That said, 'aibou' -was- used in Advent Children, but to kinda 'set a scene' for what was going on. To see it in constant abuse is annoying, especially when it comes in randomly, but do you really expect fangirls to bother? >>"

9. HANA!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Oh come on, he's a squishy!! ;-; I love him.

10. JEM IS TRULY OUTRAGEOUS. ♥ Oh childhood. This secret makes me happy.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
6.) Crossover pairings are wonderful fun. Some of them can be more fun than the pairings within one set game.

10.) You know what's funny? When I was a kid, on TV Jem was on right after GI Joe. Talk about stark contrasts.

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
6. I agree! Like you and I did for Ranmaru/Keiji/Magoichi and Samanosuke. :) That was so lovely. Even though the canon was closer, but that's one sort of crossover I like. Recent RPs that did the whole 'throw together into the same world onoes' thing were making it hard to actually get real friendships going.

10. Hahaha! I was listening to that on the JEM DVD, that Jem originally played between all boys' shows. I never realised how amusing it was, but I really didn't quite understand it then. Watching it now is like a breath of fresh air. It's fantasy and childish, but it doesn't make adults OR kids look bad andIhavenoideawhatI'mgoingonabout. /random

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
6.) And that little Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors crossover with a bickering Keiji and Lu Bu while Magoichi and Zhang Liao sneak off to find something better to do than to listen to Keiji and Lu Bu's stupidity. And Matsukaze x Red Hare FTW, mon ami! =3

10.) I always wondered what would happen if either GI Joe crossed over into the Jem universe or vice versa.

[personal profile] pleonasm 2007-03-06 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Re #9: I have loved this guy since I picked up Bleach. He's so cool! I think he probably gets lost in the fandom because of shippers. But I'm uninvolved in the fandom, so I wouldn't know. But yay Hanataro!

[identity profile] sylladicks.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
9. YOU ARE NOT ALONE (OBVIOUSLY).
karel: (karla; sword princess)

[personal profile] karel 2007-03-06 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I was so underleved by the time I was supposed to get into Lunatic Pandora or whateverthehellitwas that I just quit. Leveling was a BITCH when the monsters leveled up with you. Really, the battle system in general annoyed me. I like the new direction that they're taking the FF battles system in with FFXII.

Also Squall, you emo, emo jerk. And Rinoa. What was with that, honey? You were getting some nice character development and then you went omfgsorceress and you lost it all? Now why would you ever do that? And Laguna. You should have been there more.

[identity profile] hagiel.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
10. I have the dolls, and car and now the dvds I am TRULY OUTRAGEOUS
