Yes, he was very pretty in the role.

For me, it was always this guy:

I'll be forever disappointed that David Bowie wasn't Elrond.

David Bowie? He was never pretty enough to play an elf.

He can sit on my shelf anytime.

Yessssssssssssssss. He's an odd looking person in some angles/lights, and then he gets into a role and it's like - switch flipped, HAWT on.

Love it.

He truly is ridiculously pretty!! He is my favourite part of The Hobbit movies (and his scenes are the only ones I bother rewatching because he's gorgeous). But, yes, I remain sad that they ruined the original character. Thranduil was awesome in the book.

Lee Pace is one of my favorite actors and his thranduil was perfect..like he nailed that aloof disdain perfectly... and realizing that ned (from pushing daisies) and Thranduil are played by the same person is a testament to his acting skills... and yes totally hot

Aloof distain may be the elf stereotype, but that isn't who Thanduil is in the book.

Well the aloof disdain fit the narrative of the movie and I am pleased Though I know other people don't share the same opinion And that's OK

He certainly looked the part but I found his overacting really off-putting to be honest.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-28 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not as enamored of Pace's overall look, though his wardrobe was amazing. The overacting was... distracting. It made me giggle, which sort of destroyed the mood they were going for in those scenes.

I like this secret.

Lee Pace is fantastic & I love Thranduil so much. He's beautiful.

Lee Pace has his dad's eyebrows but looks very much like his mom.
