Text: I can't see how anyone can support Tony Stark after he kicks an unarmed (pun intended) barely conscious man in the death for trying to protect his friend from being murdered. Especially since Bucky had spent most of the time fleeing Tony until Tony literally cut off any way for him to escape.

Kicked an unarmed barely conscious man in the head with a METAL BOOT.
I'm right there with you, OP

(Anonymous) 2019-04-05 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, poor woobie "running away" Bucky almost pulled out Tony's heart, don't you think Tony might've been a tiny bit triggered?

Right.

And I thought it was pretty fucking low of Bucky to pull a gun on Tony for the third time in a day when Tony had just watched Bucky murder his parents. Don't apologize or anything, Bucky. Don't say anything. Just stand there like an asshole and pull a gun on him when he punches Steve for being a lying liar who protects Hydra. And to think Tony had saved Bucky from killing even more people just the afternoon before, and the thanks he gets from Bucky is another gun to the face when he comes to help.

Yeah, kick him, Tony. Put him down. He's a supersoldier assassin, a kick is no worse than a punch to the head on a normal human. And better that than making steak tartare of him with your lasers, which you could have done in 2 seconds flat.

Bucky repeatedly tried to run away but go off Tony Stan.

Though, maybe not considering you don't know that Tony has the arc reactor removed?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Tony’s arc reactor doesn’t keep him alive anymore and just powers the suit. Also tony profitted off war for ages as opposed to Bucky who was brainwashed against his will but go off I guess.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm laughing at all of you people.

I'm so glad you can judge shit so easily, when it wasn't easy for either Tony or Bucky. Guess it's easy when you haven't been brainwashed to repeatedly hurt/kill people, or having to literally process in 30 seconds the truth behind your parents' deaths and being lied to by someone you considered a friend (as well as possibly feeling like a fool for risking your status to help both that friend and your parents' killer... but that's speculation on my part, I admit). (Okay, so that first one is ridiculous and you have a better chance of being struck by lightning, but I think I made my point.)

Protects Hydra???

You have problems, nonnie. That's not what happened.

Also, protects Hydra, wtf? Steve protects Bucky, not Hydra. I begin to think you have problems following storylines.

After blowing off his metal arm so he can't even really hurt him!

(Anonymous) 2019-04-05 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Me neither, but then I thought he was a tiresome asshole before Civil War.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-05 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That was low, you're right.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-05 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, fuck off. i'm so sick of these ice cold "tony is the devil" takes.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Thissss. Tony is a mess, but he's far from the piece-of-shit monster a lot of people seem to want him to be. Especially within the marvel context, in which most of the characters have done some pretty awful shit at one time or another.

Well, some of us are sick of the "Tony did nothing wrong and is the hero of everything!" takes so I guess we're all going to keep being disappointed.

this. Ths fandom was so much better pre the AC CW movie.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don’t get how anyone walks out of the MCU thinking Tony was right and/or justifiable.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Nah

Psycho Killer (Qu'est-ce que c'est) and Captain My Way Or The Highway can get fucked

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
So you basically tuned out for everything leading up to the fight.

Or you're kind of shitty at basic empathy.

I'll be kind and assume the former.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
So what is your line about what justifies that kind of behavior?

Things leading up to the fight included seeing Bucky be horrifically tortured into complete compliance and seeing Tony try to blackmail Steve into a shitty government deal cosigned by General Ross of all people.

I think Tony was being his worst self knowing Bucky had no control over his actions and attacking him anyway. But an emotion bomb just exploded in Tony's head and it overwhelmed him, so I never held it against him. However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't experience a bit of Schadenfreude when Tony couldn't talk Star Lord out of his mindless rage in a similar situation.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-06 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
TBH I feel like at his age and with his temperament

Tony knows that he runs on emotion bombs and is regularly vulnerable to them and decided to make himself the sole arbiter of military force embodied in the suits anyway

but if I'm really, really honest with myself, mostly I hate Tony because he's supposed to be a genius and the ~drama~ of the plot keeps requiring him to make the same stupid decisions over and over

stop telling me he's smart, movies

I completely agree with everything you said.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't experience a bit of Schadenfreude when Tony couldn't talk Star Lord out of his mindless rage in a similar situation.

Oooh, good point! I mean, I'd like to think that in a situation where Tony knew the fate of half the universe was at stake, he wouldn't have been the selfish, idiotic hothead that Quill was. But IDK - maybe that's just me giving Tony the benefit of the doubt because I do rather like the guy (while I've never been more than lukewarm on Quill).

Yup...
People need to realize that the comics ≠ the movies, and that yes, Tony is an inexcusable dick.
