109. Your font sucks.

Re: 109.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-19 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well, to be fair, the secret sucks too. So it fits.

#149,

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
149. I agree with every single thing mentioned in this secret. I honestly can't understand how some people watch that movie EVERY DAY. I always found it worth watching on a holiday occassion... but the non-stop chatter about it and all the shitastic merchendise just killed it.

[identity profile] mariafiona.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
112. same here
148. That is so cute. Yes, Fuuko! ♥ The star is blue on a Mac, though.
149. I love love loved that movie when I was five or six years old and I would always try to persuade my parents to let me watch it every single day.

I'm so pissed off with all the Hot Topic* emotards who suddenly think it's ~cool~ to like it. Which is... not entirely related to the secret, but... just had to say it.

Also I think Nightmare Before Christmas is better, but that could just be the childhood bias speaking.

*...I am not entirely sure what Hot Topic is (it's a store! that has something to do with emo kids! that's all i know). Someone explain it to me.

Hot Topic

[identity profile] kuroimegami.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
...um, its a store that has to do with emo kids. ...>.>

Um, more seriously. It's like a less classy Spencers.

It was a punk/goth/bandteeshirts store originally until that phase where being those things was cool, and then it... stayed that way, slowly absorbing the other 'subculture' groups so now it sells cheap anime merchandise, barbie hats, etc...

Basically Hot Topic is considered sellout because it pretends subculture but is actually mainstream?

(Honestly I just don't like it because they charge more than they should for poorer quality, but they carry Tripp, so whatever.)

132. I find it much less-sexier than the books...even though there's more sex-sex. Is that odd?
162. You worry needlessly. There's not much you could miss even if you've never had a sex-ed class or saw a penis. Keep writing the pr0n!
173. Who COULD take her seriously? GTFO Palin.
180. Classic. And that would be a terrible way to sleep, I can see how it would maddening.

[identity profile] poisontea.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
102. No matter how many times I see or hear someone saying this, I have to give a resounding agreement. O-oh Viral how did you rip our heartstrings out. ): ♥♥♥♥♥

109. ... That actually would have been entirely completely adorable. D: WANT NOW. Damn you.

111. I don't really get the pairing myself, but I like it okay- have to say, that is a darn pretty picture. :>

112. ... T-trufax sorry Dexter fans. XD

116. I don't see why people would be so pissy. :/ If everyone has their favorites and their own opinions, just why should yours be less "acceptable" or w/e? afshsakf augh I don't even know people make me sad sometimes. (That last line of your secret made me crack up, though, a LOT. XDDD)

119. So your secret is... you're a smug, lying, holier-than-thou douche? Maybe you just come out and say it, it's probably not fair to your friends not to know these things. ):

120. I'm glad you're the minority in the American voting public. Probably. One can hope.

123. And what kind of mental help do you really think you can give fandom? O_o Not even to be snarky, it just really doesn't work that way.

142. I vaguely ship the books myself but HOLY SHIT JUST RESPONDING TO SAY MOTHERFUCKING PAGEMASTER SECRET ILU FOREVER ANONYMOUS OP!

149. So you've decided you hate a movie that you admit is good just because other people have their own opinions that you disagree with? I absolutely love the movie, have seen it every Halloween since childhood, think it's whimsical and sweet, brilliantly voiced and put together and that the story is a great mix of idealic and twisted. I grew up on the movie, I grew up on the songs, I have all the lyrics memorized and think the score is absolutely wonderful. Good to know that the fact that I have a personal preference for this movie somehow means that you like it less and that it somehow doesn't "deserve" my love of it.

I'm sorry but ajsfhausfahuu LEARN TO REASON BETTER and/or GTFO my childhood.

(As for Corpse Bride, eh, can't quite agree with that, but again, everyone has preferences; I personally thought it was too-short and skimmed too much and was made purposefully so just to keep the little kids it was for some reason mainly marketed for from getting impatient and fidgety with a "too-long" movie, and I felt cheated when they never came out and SAID that the one dude was the one to murder the corpse bride. They implied it, but... meh. XD; Still, if you loved it, you loved it, and that's awesome- it was a good movie!)

152. Minamimoto secrets like this make me happy. |D HE'S TELLING YOU TO PAY ATTENTION, SHAPE UP, AND LEARN THE FORMULAS, YOU RIDICULOUS HECTOPASCAL! GET IT INTO YOUR VECTOR!

157. HAHAHAHAHA CAN NOT UNSEE~

158. ... I love you for both of those fandoms and both of those OTPs. OH MAN DO I LOVE YOU. ♥ Be my friend somehow okay?

161. SOME of them I can. When they're all dolled up (lol I'm lookin' at you Miyavi (http://www.2dayblog.com/images/2007/october/miyavi.jpg)), or like the ones from An Cafe? But most of the guys that people point out as "OMG HE LOOKS LIKE A GURL!" I... also cannot see whatsoever. XD; You're not alone?

162. More of us virgins write porn than you think. :>

164. I do like how they have the same facial expression, though. =D

167. This is why and how some of us realize that fiction =/= real life, and what is acceptable in fiction isn't necessarily so in the real world. :> (That said, I don't see anything inherently wrong in incest, just the nonconsentuality that often- not always- comes with it, and the possible huge fallout amongst family- and the way that fandom normally presents beastiality, with animals or animal-like people with human intelligence, is really nothing like real beastiality anyway because the whole problem is with innocence and consent and taking advantage of the poor animal, etc.)

170. Good for you? =D? ;;

I know, but in some of the circles I move in people have been shouting "You're not a real Batman fan if you like TDK"

And thanks for laughing, I was hoping someone would :D

171. NOT AT ALL. ashfuajf that is their relationship in a nutshell. Yes, I do ship them, but mostly because that sort of relationship appeals to me so damn much- their major defining feature is that they are each other's constants, and that is amazing.

172. Don't worry too much- it's really disheartening to see fics literally AROUND yours in a comm get a ton of reviews, and end up with very, very, very little to no attention. It's not necessarily so much BAW PAY ATTENTION TO ME as it is a kick in the self-esteem, but you just have to try to not let it get to you.

173. ... I love you with a burning love that burns more than suns. XDD

174. ... Can people just kind of stop implying that it's impossible to be a "slasher" and also enjoy het couples? Plz? o_o

180. *DEAD THANKS OH MY GOD XDDDD*

too!big #4: ... O-original pic, plz? *v* (Obviously I can't help you with your secret, um. But. Please?)

doing it wrong #1: People like that are exactly why I want to falcon punch humanity as a collective sometimes. COSPLAY. IS. FOR. FUN. YOU. FUCKTARDS. Thank you and good night. :|

doing it wrong #2: ... You, however, I think deserve the "doing it wrong" label a few times over. Uh, maybe your stances about what you think should happen to the country and your ideals should be a bit more public and actually a reason WHY people decide whether they really like and respect you or not?

149. I appreciate both Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride for their technical merits, probably more so Nightmare Before Christmas, but, I prefer Corpse Bride.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-19 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
My opinion on yaoi:

Pattinson - is as far as I can see - is walking a tightrope. It's one thing to say that your character is complex, dark and three-dimensional. Another to say that the story is ridiculous, the book it's based on is bad and the movie you're in cannot not suck.

Pattinson has done the former, hasn't done the latter yet. At least not outright. But his overall dismissive and condescending attitude seems to suggest that sooner or later he's gonna slip down some slippery slope of a question and do exactly that.

When he does that he becomes a hypocrite and an idiot. A hypocrite because he sought out that role, auditioned for it and got paid for it. No one made him do it but he himself and if he didn't do his research on how ridiculous these books are, it's only his own fault.

And he would be an idiot because he would be sabotaging his own career. No one likes an actor who will badmouth the very movie he's supposed to be promoting and there are lots of other young attractive actors in Hollywood. No one there needs Pattinson to possibly pull this a similar stunt with their production. He would make himself unemployable to some degree.

IA, but I doubt he'll go that far. Journalists are good at extracting the perfect quotes for the article, and can place them so that they fit with what they are trying to say, and he just doesn't know how to deal with the press yet. He will eventually, though, and I think he'll be more careful next time.
BTW why are you anonymous?
Fandom secrets is lame because everybody is too pussy to state their opinions outright. But I read them anyway 0.0

135- At first I thought that too. But now he seems too judgmental and too taken in by what her idiot sister said about her.

138- I would not go that far, but as someone who has lost a ton of weight, I hate that term too.

149. I love NBC. I really, really wanted to love CB, but that didn't happen. The concept and art were awesome, but the delivery lacked severely. I think it should have stayed in development a bit longer. It was such a shame. :/

Re: # 149

[identity profile] marlyg.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and kind of related: Why are people so easily influenced by what others like? So a lot of goths and "emo"s (whatever that is) like something...so what? o.O? The over-commercialization/popularity of something doesn't change it or bring down its quality. It is what it is. Who cares if a lot of other people like it? What matters is what you like and appreciate.

171.

[identity profile] vulgarweed.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Awww. I agree, it's one of the best literary friendships of all time. But do you really think they never got sick of each other? Oh, I disagree. I bet they did. I bet they spent whole centuries in epic snits not speaking to each other. (Why do you think Crowley slept through the whole 19th century?) But when you're immortal, you can do that. What matters in a friendship is not never tiring of or getting mad at each other. What matters is that you know you'll always meet up again and forgive each other in time. :)
