149. I know a bit how you feel. I loved that movie since I was a kid, but now I feel ashamed to admit to people that I like it since it's become so "scene." I HATE liking what everyone else likes. -__-

112. ME TOO!

119. Hm, troll-bait?

120. Okay, sorry OP, but this is why most people find Americans retards when it comes to electing their leaders.

121. Hm, sometimes people don't know for sure they have typos because, well, not everyone has English as their primary language? I always apologize for eventual typos or bad grammar because I'm NOT English.

122. What is this? :o

123. ... Dude. It's a lost case, lmfao.

131. I honestly think he did it for the lulz. I mean, I don't care about him at all, but I think I'd totally do it for the lulz. I mean, how can you resist that? However, I understand and totally agree with your opinion, were this a different occasion. Because Twilight fandom deserves nothing but being mocked. Sparkling vampires... Really? Really?

138. Why do the puppies have to pay for the stupid, whyyyy? :(

149. I love, LOVE this movie, I adore the songs and the characters so much, but I refuse to fap at Tim Burton. And I totally refuse to assossiate myself with the fandom, fuck no. And I HATE how emo kids turned Jack as their pet or something, fff. Fuck you, guys. Fuck you. :\

161. They are pretty feminine by my standards, but, hey, everyone's entitled to their opinions.

SARAH PALIN AS MAYOR OF WASILLA MADE RAPE VICTIMS PAY UP TO $1200 A KIT FOR THE RAPE KITS USED AT HOSPITALS (http://news.bostonherald.com/news/2008/view.bg?articleid=1118416&srvc=2008campaign&position=9)

The police chief she hand-picked -- to replace the man she fired who refused to bow to her abuse of power and fire her sister's ex-husband -- still believes this was a good call. The state had to write a bill to overturn this decision.

I'm so glad you're taking the time out of your apparently busy fucking day to think about the issues when you're making your decision on who to vote for in the upcoming election. I'm pleased that you looked at the candidate's stances on the issues and made the most informed decision that you could while staying true to your own personal beliefs. I'm thrilled to note that on the say-so of two masked fucking AUSTRALIANS you're going to cast your vote in the American presidential election.

This better be a fucking joke, to get people to react in the outraged manner that I am. Because if this is a serious secret, I can honestly say that I hope you keep your stupid, useless ass home from the polls instead of voting for the lulz.

Jackass.

112-Me too. Every time.

118-The best thing about these SH secrets is that for some reason until seeing the pictures? I never knew what the hell was on the cover. I guess I must have always looked at it too closely or something, because it always just looked like swirls. Now I look at the picture and see, um, yeah, it's the head of a marble statue. Duh. Thanks F!S!

131-Seems like it was the hate that got him the part! Didn't he say he played it differently than other people because of his feelings about the character? If anything, he's found an interesting spin for the publicity.

133-I gotta admit I've watched the first two episodes and...I'm not feeling it. The vampires are one of the more boring aspects of it for me. It's barely a metaphor when everybody practically identifies it as a metaphor within the fictional reality.

112) I wish he was who everyone was talking about.

123) Dear lord, if there was a department somehow somewhere that would help all of the mentally impaired and kind of creepy people in fandom and they actually wanted the help, the world would be a better place.

152) NOW I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY GEOMETRY CLASSES NEXT WEEK.
He's all I'm gonna think about. Make the class better, in my opinion. ♥

171) I'm constantly looking for someone like that. D: And I thought I found someone like that once before.
The point I'm trying to make is the dolphins. That's my point.

[identity profile] brekfastmachine.livejournal.com 2008-09-18 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
123) Actually, I take that back. Most people in fandom don't even know that they really need the help.

140. I agree completely. I'm an...older virgin, and I just shake my head when I hear about people who lose their virginity at 12, 13, 14, etc. I would much rather wait until I find someone, not only who I actually deeply care about, but who has a chance at knowing what he's doing! Really, does anyone who loses their virginity when they're barely out of puberty actually have an experience they want to remember? Seems like it would be more painfully awkward than anything else.

And yeah, I can make myself come juuuust fine while reading fanfiction. ::whistles::

162. You just described why I will never write pr0n, myself! That said, is any porn fic really that realistic anyway? I figure it's more important just to make it hot, not to get every detail down the way it actually happens in real life.

Hey, don't have to be 25 or older to appreciate a good show and all the extras.

I'm not even 20 and I'm a huge Hogan's Heroes, Doctor Who (old school), Bewitched, Green Acres, Hawaii Five-O, I Dream of Jeannie, Batman, F-Troop, UFO fan.

I was raised on these shows (well, except for Doctor Who and Hawaii Five-O and F-Troop and UFO - those I got into later in life).

Nothing to be ashamed of.

I don't agree with you whatsoever, but I'm kind of impressed that you're willing to say that in a mostly liberal community.

102. Viral, oh Viral. But at least, we will have that parallel universe where he and Kamina and Simon are questing knights and he totally has the family he's always wanted?

103. Genderless bloodcreature, and a child noone knows what it is. Match made in heaven if you ask me!

123. I don't know, if you end up taking criminology all you will see are the elements of fandom who actually snap, but psychology? You're going to meet up with all the elements of fandom that needs help even if they WON'T snap, and that I can imagine will be a little like the Abyss staring back at you: not for the faint of heart.

127. Because you find yourself incapable of running screaming towards innocent windmills? :)

131. Ah, but can it not be said that BECAUSE he worked hard for it, his dawning realization what it is he's getting into makes him all the MORE validated to be sarcastic about it? Of course, that's just one way of reading it. Maybe he did work hard and is just being sarcastic to save face. Maybe he had no idea what kind of batshit-insanity he was getting himself into.

In either case, I can't really be mad at him because in my experience plenty of actors, even wellrespected thespians, will openly mock a movie they just did for the green or for furthering their careers if they thought it stunk. I don't know if this is any different, but if Alec Guinness, the image of professionalism according to the other actors who worked with him is allowed slack for thinking Star Wars was silly, can't we let RPattz (OH GOD I DON'T REMEMBER HIS REAL NAME JUST THE NICKNAME I DON'T WANT TO BE THIS SOMEONE REMIND ME FAST) be sarcastic about a movie that is no doubt a steaming pile?

132. ... Out of curiosity, how did it end? Because I am now imagining a dumped Gumshoe, and no matter how valid the reasons anyone could have are, it just breaks my heart to think of a dumped Gumshoe.

136. PREACH IT BROTHER. As longwinded as it can be at times, it is the healthy meal those gorged on unhealthy fanfic desperately needs and I want it to have a real conclusion gdmt.

174. Is that Keanu Reeves on the right?

179. Well, I don't know if one can really call Rue a 'bad girl', really. She wasn't so much about enjoying causing mayhem and making a ruckus as she just really wanted Mytho and was superseriously driven to have him.

105. That movie and Sandman have had more of an impact on my faith than nine years of Catholic school.

109. Canon? No. Or, I doubt it. Maybe, but we're talking, like, five, ten seasons of show, after Joss had so utterly killed, buried, unearthed, burned and fed to dogs the corpse of Simon/Kaylee that its shippers just wandered around as little hollow husks of themselves.
But bless, they were so cute.

122. Ditto.

131. I actually liked what I read. Granted, I didn't read the whole interview, just a quote a friend posted where he points out that Edward is a creepy, disturbed ridiculously-aged-virgin with issues. Which doesn't mean he's not playing it wholeheartedly. It means that he's actually playing it with that layer in mind, which has half a chance in heck of making it work. Subtext>text.

140. Yeah. I'm good with that too.

142. Huh. I watched that oodles of times...can't remember what part that is.

146. Oh gosh, Niles=sosososososooo hot. No, seriously. Wedding rings, not so much, but goodness, when he's down to the slightly-baggy shirt and the suspenders just tight enough to show how slim he is, playing piano and being all condescending...excuse me, I need to leave the room for a mo'.
Maybe it's a good thing I was never home for all those Fraiser marathons my friends had.

159. It's weird to say, but I like this secret. Even though it soesn't apply to me in any way..it's still poignant. I hope things work out for you.

162. First bit could be me. As to the second. That's the smaller of the reasons that I just never write porn in my fics. Seriously, a tasteful fade-to-black works just as well, because my readers minds, I'm sure, can fill in the blanks much better, and anyway, the few times I've read anything of the sort, it just makes me snicker because on paper it just sounds so technical.

166. Heh. Well, you've got to admit that the fact that his alt-mode is that extremely sexy motorbike makes him the most rideable of the Autobots.
Well, that and the fact that he's a robotic ninja version of Owen Burnett.
Speaking of porn and getting technical...

171. You summed up my feelings pretty well. I was surprised (and then not when I though about the nature of fandom) to realise that most people who read the book seemed to ship them. It had nothing to do with that sort of relationship to me, and everything to do with all the rest of it.

172. Best. Pic. Ever. Seriously. It's so very upsetting.
I feel that way hhhaaaaaallll the time. It's my fault--I draw for obscure fandoms/characters, etc. However much attention something gets, it's never enough.
...until it's too much. 400~ comments of "LOL!" is enough. Sort of.

173. Can't unsee. Now find Palin even more scarifying. Love Peggy Hill. Wouldn't want her running a school trip, let alone the country.

Also, would love to see either of the Presidential candidates making that face/pose.

172. See the picture for 172.

TooBig2: Huh. It's weird. Usually, I can't stand Katara-type characters, and I was fully expecting to hate her utterly (I despise Hermione for many of those reasons). Yet... I don't know. Maybe it's because Katara learns from her mistakes sometimes, admits when she's wrong. Maybe it's because those things are actually treated like flaws as opposed "it's her personality, but nothing bad will ever come of it." Maybe it's just because she brings something necessary to the dynamic, and at the end of the day, I totally believe and love her character.
But honestly, there's not a single character in Avatar I was able to hate. Except one. And by the end, I would've loved her too, if her introduction hadn't completely gelled with the idea of her being anything but comic relief.

too big

[identity profile] inuyatta.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
For srs? I never saw her get backlash for any of her self-righteous asshattery, nor did she ever apologize to Sokka for going way outta line. Well, that and she never did reap the consequences of any of her reckless actions.

I can't say I truly hated any characters in Avatar, but if any were to come close...it'd be Mai and Katara. Mai offends me on so many levels and was developed so poorly, it's not funny. Katara was great at first, but my interest with her declined in S3 due to her petty, rash behavior and her sue!treatment. D:

124 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I won't even get into how they're not the same person.

Okay I will.

The general thing about The Joker (in any medium) is he's a dude who thinks chaos (whether it be playing a harmless prank or killing fifteen people) is funny. When he kills, he will kill anyone: good, bad, in between. Dexter, on the other hand, whose sense of chaos is usually restricted to the Dark Passenger, has Harry's Code (except in season two of the show, but I'm done complaining about that to anyone who will listen). He has a compulsion to kill, but he only kills bad people. Usually he knows to differentiate between the two groups of good and evil.

LOL VERBOSE

173 How dare you insult Peggy Hill like that. She doesn't deserve to be likened to a wretch.
