They literally are a pedophile in the sense of being sexually attracted to children or representations of children, sorry. You can argue that it's not morally harmful or bad to be a pedophile in that way, for various reasons, but on the basic point of "is or is not a pedophile", I don't think there's really a lot of grey area or wiggle room here.

Also, in in terms of "shipping" do they just want there to be a romantically inclined relationship where they find each other cute and maybe kiss a bit? Or are there hard, graphic, sex scenes. Or something else on this whole spectrum?

And the age of the fiction characters and where they are on that spectrum is going to be where I find certain fiction personally acceptable.

Personally, just because I can imagine 15/16 year olds exploring first physical love together doesn't make me want to actually BE with a 15/16 year old as a full adult now. It just means I have a memory of being that age and how I can imagine characters would interact. First love was fun/exciting/complicated/messy and it's okay to think about how it could have been different as different characters!

I don't know who the specific guy is or what ship it is, so I can't answer those questions. I know we have people on Flightrising who will probably fill us in with the details. I'm also kind of operating under the assumption that OP - who is apparently on the guy's side in the whole argument - probably would have mentioned it if it was a 17 year old and a 19 year old since it would clearly be a relevant detail, instead of describing them as "kids". But who knows, maybe not.

What did I do to anyone? The secret doesn't even name whoever the person is, and they've already been publicly accused of, and banned for, pedophilia. OP described them as "liking fictional ships with underage characters." If that person likes those ships because they are attracted to those characters, they're a pedophile. I stand by that. Many people, here and elsewhere, seem to disagree with that idea in principle, and agree with OP, who thinks that the reason that it's not pedophilia is because the characters are fictional. I think that's totally wrong and I reject it entirely.

If OP misrepresented the situation, and neglected to mention some other reason that it's not pedophilia, that's entirely on them, go yell at them for it. Based on the facts of OP's post, the behavior described is pedophilic.

Okay,even setting aside "fiction is not really", how old are the characters, does he ship them when they're older (because that's a common anti calling card, that even if you age them up you're still a pedo because they *were* underage, even if underage means a day shy of 18), is it even sexual at all, and most importantly, when did shipping something come to mean you automatically are personally sexually attracted to the characters involved???

Where does it say they’re sexually attracted to the characters in the ship? Do you assume they must be because they ship them? I’m that case all the lesbians with M/M ships and who read and write explicit porn of those ships have a lot of explaining to do.......
