I'm sure there are quite a few. But, as they say, ain't nobody calling the cops when times are good.

I read it a while ago, but Geekerella was pretty cute. One of the stories in the Pros of Cons was nice too.

Slightly OTT, but-

-if anybody is interested in a fanvid that's an ode to fannishness and geerkery, may I recommend A Different Kind Of Love Song by Giandujakiss. It's adorable and kickass.

The Secret Lives of Geeks and The Secret Lives of Geek Girls both have some great essays and comics on fandom.

What did you do today, FS?

I went to Target and 2 different grocery stores today. My production manager at work is transferring to our main plant, and her last day is Sunday, so were having a going away potluck for her that day and I'm bringing my good homemade mac and cheese (she's a great boss and I will miss her). She's deserving of my mac and cheese. And I actually found some French comté cheese, yay!!!

Took a walk because it was a really nice day out, went to Trader Joe's and got groceries, watched Monty Python and GBBO.

Fed and cleaned up after the chickens - who can't seem to grasp that the more they crowd, the slower I'm gonna get stuff done - and did a little more work on a map for D&D. I drafted it in a graph paper notebook, and now I'm drawing it out full size I'm realising I might have made it a little big... -_-'

Went to Walmart to buy an ice pack. Went on a walk. Made an appointment to go to the doctor so I can hopefully figure out what is up with me.

Work was busy. Then I had Spanish class. Then I went to the bank to pick up pesos for Mexico. Then I came home. Doing laundry now and writing my packing/to do list. Also reading a really hot short story.

Just went and got groceries after fearing to leave my house (more specifically, my bathroom) all day after coming home from my eight mile hike yesterday afternoon with a raging headache and nausea so bad I couldn’t even keep water down until midnight. But my headache finally cleared up, and since breakfast and lunch of bananas, white rice, water, and gatorade has stayed down, I think I’m over whatever that was. I went out to breakfast before the hike and got the same thing as my uncle, and he was fine. Blargh.

Plotted out a fic, did some draft work, and found a gaggle of good vintage shows to watch later on YouTube. Now debating with myself if it'd be worth the effort and time to start blogging about a niche historical hobby of mine. Research is fun, finding an audience for it is not.

Drove in weirdly slow morning rush hour traffic. After work I cleaned the turtle tank and watched a thing on tv about the campaign to ban ozone-destroying chemicals. I ate some of the cake I baked yesterday.

At $6.99 a month, it is basically worth it for The Simpsons, especially because you can download episodes. All the other shows and movies are just a really nice bonus.

I don’t like how Disney is getting even more mega, but that will be almost half the price of Netflix.

Re: The Disney Investors meeting is going on. So much news!

(Anonymous) 2019-04-12 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
That seems really cheap - wonder if the price will go up a year or so after the service has been released and more content is available? I was expecting it to around twice that at launch.

Very excited for it!

A wee little vent

(Anonymous) 2019-04-12 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
I really want senpai to notice me a somewhat-famous person on Twitter to give me a brief nod -- without me being rude, spammy, creepy, etc. Just one "like" on one reply to one tweet would make my day. I'm not very witty, and I'm only one of several dozen people complimenting them (not on every post, just here and there), so I'm guessing I just have to hold out for a big fluke. I've never had a big fluke before.

Well...daydreams exist for a reason. I feel a little weird daydreaming about a real person, but lots of people do it, and it doesn't do any harm on its own.
