Personally I find Steve stans more obnoxious because they treat character preferences as an indication of real life morals, while completely ignoring the unfortunate implications of their own fave's position.

Implying Tony stans don't do the exact same shit.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
In my experience, no. They don't.

In my experience, they do.

That's nice. Your experience doesn't trump mine, and trying to litigate my experience and opinion doesn't actually make your side look less obnoxious.

NAYRT but... no.

If there are Tony stans that do the same shit, you not having experienced that yourself doens't disprove that at all

NA

By your own words, your experience doesn't trump the above person's own experience either.

And yes, there's absolutely some Tony fans who claim the moral high ground like some Steve fans who claim the moral high ground.

This is not some unique problem for fans of these characters and these characters only.

There are some villain/antagonist fans who try to claim they have the moral high ground because those characters are usually given good points to heighten the drama of the story. AKA 'Magneto is right'.

Some people really want their fave to be beyond reproach and who the character is doesn't actually matter, although characters positioned as heroes by the canon definitely get the higher proportion.

Ah fuck, apparently didn't properly close a tag. Just 'This is not some unique problem for fans of these characters and these characters only.' should be in italics.

Exactly! Well said, anon.
