Please, where do you hang out OP. Cuz, I am surrounded by Tony Stans and can't find any Steve ones. So, I need to be where you are.

I find Tony Stans to crossover a lot with Loki Stans (assholes with daddy issues that are woobified to hell) and I can't stand Loki at all. Which may be why they annoy me so much.

Hmm. Well, AO3 is mostly where I hang out, and that’s crawling with Tony stans (that don’t bother to tag their Steve bashing), so I find the Tony stans pretty annoying. But I agree on Bucky. I tried for a long time to figure out why I just couldn’t get into Stucky, when it would normally be my cup of tea. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that I just have no interest whatsoever in Bucky. Don’t know why exactly - I just really could not care less about him.

I like Tony just fine - though untagged bashing is not cool and fans shouldn’t be that kind of asshole - but oh man, do I agree with you on Bucky. He’s the sort of character that I should like, and I should have been all over Steve/Bucky, but I just...do not care. And I don’t really understand why.

Yeah, same. I’m not anti-Bucky (or Stucky) - I just don’t care. It’s the type of ship that should totally appeal to me, and yet....not so much.

As far as Tony goes - I like Tony. I like Tony a lot, although not as much as I like Steve. I’m just not here for “let’s woobify Tony and drag Steve.”

Aaaaah, I'm a Tony lover and I ship Tony/Steve, so Steve stans that constantly hammer on Bucky and Bucky/Steve get on my nerves.

I never bash characters and I obviously like Steve fine, but Bucky has never done it for me, either.

Loki, either.

I'd say it's the long hair, but I love Thor to pieces.

I like Tony, and Steve/Tony is my preferred flavor of MCU fic (though not the only one I’ll read), but as a Steve fan primarily, it’s frustrating to me that 90% of Stony fic is Tony-focused, or at least it feels that way. I crave emotional H/C for Steve, but it seems like there’s just a tiny amount out there, and I don’t really get why. I’m not really sure there’s more in Stucky fandom either; at least from what I’ve seen it just seems like the focus changes from Tony to Bucky as the designated woobie.

I didn’t watch Civil War for a long time, but after I did, I ran to AO3 looking for all the H/C and making up fics, and I was sadly disappointed. I mean, that exists, but mostly from the Poor Woobie Tony/Make Steve Grovel perspective, which is....not what I was looking for.

I tried to read a fic that had Tony in the main pairing...and the way it was written just bugged me. Honestly, the stuff I would read had the Steve fans more likely to be kinda understanding of Tony's feelings with his parents. Especially the Steve/Bucky stuff.

I think I found something that put it best. I like Tony in the Iron Man movies. I'm ambivalent everywhere else. And that spreads to fanworks and fandom.

So yeah, hard disagree from me.

Yeah, did Steve stans practically invent a new pairing just for a new, creative way to bash Tony? I still have yet to find a legit Stark/Strange fic that didn't bash Cap. Even the most highly rated ones in the tag are like that.

Bummer, Anon. I really enjoy happy ending-found family fic, and while i don't agree with how a certain faction of writers write Tony, I pretty much love him, Cap, Bucky, Sam, Pepper, Maria... Well, everyone, frankly. Vision is boring, but otherwise - team!fic, FTW!

I'm a Tony fan and I find Tony stans more annoying just because they're louder and I prefer piece in my fandoms. It's a bit sad that FS is so anti Tony as I find Steve fans mostly just do their thing and have fun without harping on their dislike of Tony. Granted I don't go looking for Steve centric content so I might be wrong about it.

Anyone else here appalled at what Endgame did to Steve? I don't think I can even still like the guy after the shit the Russos did to his character, there's no defending it. And it goes against everything that's been established about his character. Just terrible.

Yeah I’m pretty upset. I mean, he’s my favorite character, so I’m not going to stop liking him, but I’m going to be pretty actively ignoring that particular development (and looking for all the fix-it fic).

If the plot on the Wikipedia page is accurate, then yes. But then again, if that plot is accurate then just about everything about Endgame is terrible.

I hated what they did with Steve at the end, and I agree that it goes against everything that was established about him. It didn't make me stop loving him, but I'm going to completely ignore Endgame. Fortunately, the stuff I hate most is very easy to handwave.

Personally I find Steve stans more obnoxious because they treat character preferences as an indication of real life morals, while completely ignoring the unfortunate implications of their own fave's position.
