OMG HISTORY IS SRS BSNS!!

Honestly, she found something that made American history interesting to her. So now she knows--really knows-- about American history. Better than her not knowing or caring at all. In my experience, you can't ship historical figures unless you know a fuckton about them to begin with, so she probably knows just as much about Hamilton and Jefferson as you do, maybe more.

Also, I ship more people in American history than you can shake a stick at, but that doesn't mean that I don't have an equal interest in just learning the history.

I just think it's sad that people don't have the attention span or enough sense to generate interest for the material. I have a degree in history, so I take it personally when people either don't care about the subject I spent so many years of my life engrossed in, and that they apparently have to resort to seriously imagining historical figures fucking each other to generate any ounce of interest in their own history. If you can't see how this is sad then I just don't know what to tell you.

I would rather her not care about American history than be all OMG JEFFERSON IS A BISHIE!!!111 just to avoid the embarrassment.

Taking it personally when people aren't interested in your area of expertise is a little asinine, don't you think? I'm sure all those Bachelors of Science at your University sure resented the fact that you were sitting around talking about Hegel and Historiography when you COULD have been learning their very favorite subject: Astrophysics!

Astrophysics actually happens my husband's personal interest.

But yeah, like I said earlier, I don't care if people aren't into history. I mean, I hate math. That doesn't make it necessary for them to defile it with bad slash pairings.

Trust me I know plenty of people that ship things based on the simplest facts like 'oh hay they traveled together' as their complete rationale.
