i said it back then when it was a comment secret and i'm gonna say it again.

this. so much this.
if you go on twitter the morning after like, idk, GOT aired during the night (I am one of the euroanons and got's broadcast is in the middle of the night for us) and you complain about getting spoilt for the big episode twist / the big death, it's your own frigging fault.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
So basically, you expect people to just not use the Internet at all if they're concerned about spoilers?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The internet isn't just social media.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
maybe not the whole internet, but in my experience checking twitter, tumblr, facebook / fandom space of your choice after a fandom happening is an almost guarantee for spoilers. so, yeah, not much sympathy.

So basically you expect people to stay off social media in order to avoid spoiling people?

If it's a TV show, people have every right to discuss it the day after it airs and tough luck on you if you didn't watch it.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's reasonable to ask people to warn or tag for spoiler content immediately after things come out

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Or they could, you know, mark their spoilers. Heaven fucking forbid.

I mean, I have to use social media for work. I'm not on there for fun. And it's shitty to just blame people for getting on social media because they haven't been able to see a movie yet. Just don't be a dick and mark your spoilers.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't you have separate accounts for fandom and work?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
...

if they see a spoiler when they're on their work account, they still get just as spoiled

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
But why would people be posting about spoilers on their professional accounts? Additionally I can't speak for facebook (beyond unfollowing but remaining friends), but tumblr and twitter provide plenty of options to mute key terms.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-29 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I know Twitter and shit sometimes puts trending tweets where you see it, doesn't it?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-29 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Not if you use adblock.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-02 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
nyart

my work doesn't allow adblock

(Anonymous) 2019-04-29 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I haven't seen Endgame yet, so you know what I'm NOT doing? Browsing Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook.

Haven't seen a single Endgame spoiler so far.
