Re: What is the most disappointed you have been with a piece of media?

I'm watching Dexter. Could you spoil me and tell me why you don't care for the finale? Is it the whole last season or just the last episodes?

Re: What song got you into a new genre of music?

Rammstein - Du Hast. Nu metal.

people mourn celebrity deaths all the time though? and how often do you see a famous animal being mourned anyway? grumpy cat just happened to be well known by a lot of people. there were t-shirts and plush dolls made of her. can't people mourn for things that aren't human? i'd be more depressed if people couldn't more for things that aren't human.

OP

Lol, I meant the character of Percival Graves, but I guess that comes out to 50%.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
people do mourn celebrities this much though? all the time... i don't understand your conclusions here. maybe it's just your friends or where you go on the internet.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Grief is rarely logical. People often mourn ideas as well as people and animals.

“The End” by My Chemical Romance got me into alternative rock.

The art of Owen and baby raptors was so cute. Plus it's interesting to imagine how they were raised.

Well, right now that severe hail and thunderstorm just passed after 30 minutes of rain and the street directly in front of our driveway has a gigantic puddle of water up to the middle of the wheels of parked cars and every time a car drives thru it, water ripples into our driveway. Now I shall be on pins & needles half the night, neurotically fretting that if the water doesn't subside, it will come into my living area via beneath the front door, up thru the drain beneath the washer/dryer in my bedroom, or up thru my toilet. Thanks, Nature and useless storm drains in front of my house!

Alan/raptors? Man that's weird. I have seen Muldoon ("clever girl" guy) and raptor. But only as a crack fic. And this piece from from the toast: http://the-toast.net/2015/04/27/if-the-velociraptor-from-jurassic-park-were-your-girlfriend/

Oh goodness! I bought that on my Kindle for a reduced price and was so happy that I got a discount. That book was so dull! I was (and still am) a very disappointed Donna Tartt fan.

It was hearing Just Like Heaven by the Cure and Bizarre Love Triangle/True Faith that got me into New Order (both back in '87-'88) and then my whole New Wave/Alternative love started from there and it's been a lifelong thing since then.

da

Coincidentally, I just read this article about the Dexter finale.

https://tv.avclub.com/dexter-remember-the-monsters-1798178011

And it's the whole last season(s), plus the finale, which was even worse than you thought it was going to be.

Hank Williams' "Ramblin Man," though admittedly I still don't know a lot about country.

NAYRT

Are you a Donna Tartt fan, or a The Secret History fan? Not saying that to be judgey, I just feel like The Little Friend was even more likely to be found dull than The Goldfinch. Did you not find it dull?

I...liked most of The Goldfinch? But was deeply dissatisfied with the last couple of chapters, to the point where I was almost pissed off when I got to the end. But I can definitely see why someone might find it dull. I'm a fiction masochist who made myself read a fuck ton of "the classics" in my early twenties, so now almost nothing is dull by comparison, but yeah The Goldfinch certainly wasn't overly lively.

You know, I don't think I've ever gotten into a genre in my life. I just hear a song and like it, or hear a song and don't. Sometimes if I like a song a lot I'll check out more music by that artist. But I've never once thought to myself, "What genre is this? I should check out more music in this genre."

Part of me would like to think we’re being observed by the interstellar version of the U.N. out of concern about all the fascist and would-be fascist nutjobs currently in power, but although I think there are probably intelligent aliens somewhere in the (really unimaginably huge) universe, I dunno why they’d come here just to play hide and seek.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT but there’s at least some dinofucking fic in my fandom that has nothing whatsoever to do with dinosaurs, so I know it exists.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
They do have a chance to win money though. Have you seen Worst Cooks in America? I don't care for its celebrity chefs, but the contestants actually learn as they go along.

Omg, new Windows is trash. And it's not intuitive after years of using the older systems.

I thought he was 20 or so? The actor was about 24.
