The humor in Ragnarok is why I liked it and pretty much none other superhero movies. I also like Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. The other movies are too earnest.

People who don't like it (but like other superhero movies) are incomprehensible to me

Fictional secretaries

[personal profile] philstar22 2019-05-29 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm doing a presentation Saturday that is about being a secretary for my public speaking group. And I want to make my power point fun. So I'm putting in pictures of fictional characters. But the only one I could think of that sort of worked was Pepper Potts, who wasn't exactly a secretary, but sort of and close enough. Any others that would be fun to include?

Moral question:

[personal profile] thewakokid 2019-05-29 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think you have it in you to order the torture and slow death of another human being?

Not like torture for the sake of information, I mean pure gratuitous spite?

"I hate this person so much I want their life to end, but I want them to know the maximum about of pain and distress a human is capable of experiencing" kinda thing?

Is that something that's in you?

I mean, I get being annoyed with bad writing, but when it comes to characters all you have is the text. It isn't very fruitful to have a conversation based on the hypothetical "well-written" versions that only exist in your imagination.

Nope. Never. Not even someone I really hated.

I don't need to be comprehended.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ye olde haphazard 'it's just a kid's movie' counter criticism. Sigh.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-29 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I do it all the time, lol

For reference I did not think I ever would.

But today... I found out about a man calling himself Kero the Wolf.

If you want to test yourself, look up the story of Hachiko, then look up the story of Kero the Wolf.

Be warned it's rough.

right this second if someone asked me "Would you sign off on his torture and slow death" I would say yes. In a heartbeat.

I'm not fronting here, I am legitimately disturbed.
