I hate stoners. I hate the drug itself. I hate everything to do with it.

I'm 100% for a legalisation. First of all, being able to get it legally would cut down on it being a gateway drug for a lot of people (in terms of reducing contact to dealers). Decriminalization is also important - As long as alcohol is legal, a drug that's not more harmful to most users shouldn't be a reason to go to jail over it. Then there's the issue of illegal marijuana getting cut with all sorts of shit.
There need to be rules of course, like not driving under the influence etc. But in my opinion, the pros of a legalisation outweigh the cons.

I talked more above, but I'd be okay with eventual legalization. But the need for rules is my exact issue. I think more time and planning is needed. And I haven't seen that happen in places that have legalized so far.

I know how harmful it can be. I've seen it first hand. But I still believe it may have been less harmful if there had been legal ways to obtain a fairly clean product. I do agree that there has to be more research though.

What pot dealers do you know that are pushing heroin? The gateway thing is straight out of high school health class. Fungal spores and rat pee are probably the worst things you'll find in pot that's grown illegally. As for it being cut with other drugs, nobody's giving you free drugs. They will charge you for that.

NAYRT, but I know illegal growers in California (so probably elsewhere too) were using all kinds of banned pesticides, so there may also be even more gnarly than usual pesticide residue on/in illegal weed. My parents didn’t use pesticides on theirs, but then, they were old hippies.

Honestly you're right, but that doesn't mean that you aren't wrong.
Then again I knew a lot of dealers who's stuff was coated, meaning common chemicals and the such. It's just a thing that happens aside from the rat piss, and fungus. It'd give a different effect for those who didn't know what they were looking for (those who could be sold a joint at a dime's price) and also certain pesticides are used to keep the crop from being eaten, (much like gardening) especially in climates weed won't naturally grow. Some are purposeful, some aren't, but all are added without the buyers knowledge. They aren't about to add anything worthwhile, or serious like heroin and the likes, but that doesn't mean that it isn't contaminated.

Not every place is murrica and "homegrown" isn't the default everywhere, since like every plant, if has certain conditions to grow. And I know several people who went from pot to other, more harmful drugs through the same dealers. Just because you don't have the same experiences doesn't mean it doesn't exist and it's laughably naive to believe that.
And nobody said anything about it being cut with other drugs. Maybe smoke less pot if your reading comprehension is already suffering this much.

Smoking is a gateway drugs, not weed, that would be the next step. I'd say that liquor is more harmful in the way that it is more legal of the two. Most people think less of it, think that it isn't a drug (same with cigarettes) because it is legal. Weed is only different because the tolerance involved is thought of being less because 'just having one' is still considered an offence. Alcohol used to be the same, but with association comes regularity, and doing something again and again makes it seem like less. So more drugs becoming more available to the public makes me disagree with you, no matter what the form of them are. Kids will smoke, 'stoners' will use drugs, and everybody drinks.
