fandomsecrets | (no subject)

Lots of people have been bringing this up: what do you think about having the secret makers put the fandom in the image itself, rather than the name-the-fandom thread? Like a note at the bottom of the image (eta: or a note in the comment itself) that says:

fandom: Dr. Who, or fandom: House, or fandom: fanfiction/fanart/rp, or fandom: Pokemon/Twilight Crossover with a Bella the Bellsprout and her sparkly vampire virgin pikachu boyfriend

I'd go into effect starting with the next subs post (so everything submitted this week is fine, don't worry). The first comment would still be there for repeats and stuff like that.

What if the fandom is so small, spilling it would reveal the maker's identity?
If they didn't want to name the fandom, they probably wouldn't name characters or anything, right? So if it were like "I ship this one character with this other one, but no one else does and I feel alone, but this fandom is so small everyone would know it's me // fandom: character shipping"? That could work.

Does the fandom tag have to be on the image itself?
On second thought, probably not. You could just include it in the comment you put the link in, and that would work, too!

Make a tabs list of all of the fandoms named. And then, for those who are really gung-ho about knowing the fandom, the poster is guaranteed to know it if they put in the time and effort to search with the interwebz.

B/c while the 'WTF is this?' game can be fun, it's only fun when I'm guaranteed to know what the fandom is. And the people who truly care to know what the fandom is will put the work and effort into it.

And it doesn't need to be tabs. It could be

technophile's first post just listing all of the names. And it doesn't even need to be posted on the same day. He can post it on the next secret post day just to make certain that only people who really care will put in the effort.

Therefore, the secret maker isn't in any way compromised.

If you mean tags, there's a limited number of them allowed and it might not be enough. Someone else suggested listing all the fandoms at the end of the post; that would work better as there would be no limitations. They wouldn't (shouldn't?) be connected to the secret numbers; anyone wanting to know could google the answers as long as they knew the possible fandoms.

I also agree. I like the list at the end idea. With a list, you could still do name that fandom - now you'd have a word bank!
