I think it'd be different for everyone, but maybe when you reach a point where you don't have to actively avoid memories/places/conversations because it no longer hurts quite so much to think/talk about them? Where you're not stalking their social media, wondering what they're doing or who they're seeing, etc.

Maybe that point where you're not really thinking much about them at all? And hopefully that comes with a happy, fulfilled life without them.

They are very permanently in my life as a close friend. Probably explains why I can't figure out if I like them or like like them. :/
