Even though I don't play video games, I still think it is a really interesting form of media. I'm fascinated by some of the worlds of some games, enough that I've researched and even played fics. I listen to game sountracks. I watch videos about games on Youtube. I just don't play them. I have issues with my hands that make playing difficult, and I don't have the time. But video games are still cool. And the world created and the characters are often just as interesting and complex as the ones in books, movies, or tv.

Yeah. Story-based video games are basically Choose Your Own Adventures, which started as books anyway.

And some of the worlds are as amazingly big as some of the bigger fictional worlds. I'm thinking of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls specifically since those two are the ones I've looked more into.

I can’t really physically play them either, so I’m grateful for YouTube.

I think games have the best world building of all medias, because even when you don't have choice, or your choices don't have much if any impact on the plot, it still lets you live and explore at your own pace. It gives you a sense of control on how things are, and physically playing them makes them all the more immersive. (even when just watching tbh, too)
It has the diversity of novels, and the liveliness of video. With live action you can only do so much without cheesy cgi or an enormous budget, and details can be lost between the lines of books, so I think it's the best of both words.
