"Body shaming"
Like they're real people... -_-"

Good grief.
These are CHARACTERS, which were DESIGNED by real people! Most of these characters were designed by MEN! To be HOT!
Tell me if I lost you somewhere in there!

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, because unrealistic depictions in the media have no effect whatsoever on societal expectations. Did you take a wrong turn somewhere on your way to reddit?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
...?

Unrealistic expectations... that video games might occasionally have women who are anywhere under an F cup? Who wear one (1) whole shirt and one (1) whole pair of pants? Who don't need a "totally deep and emotionally complex u gaiz" reason for wearing a bikini on the front lines because, twist, she's wearing the same thing as all the male characters?
What the fuck comment did you think you were replying to, there?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be honest, I'm not sure what you're going on about, but you sound like you could use a nap.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

I think the original anon was pointing out that it's not the women people are blaming, it's the men who design them to be sexual. Those were exclamation points of frustration, not approval.

Then you told them to go back to reddit, and they were like "what's wrong with wanting women to have normal size boobs and wear clothing?"

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see. If that's the case, then I thought they were trying to say the opposite.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, I get it! You decided to come into a discussion you didn't understand, accuse someone at random of being sexist, and when they got offended, fall back on "you're taking it too seriously", which is definitely not troll bullshit or anything. Okay. I'm having a quiet morning, so I'm gonna break this down into the simplest terms I can. just for you.

1) OP is pretending that criticising character design is the same as criticising real people. That's what the "body shaming" and "sex positive" bits are about.

2) I point out that these are fictional characters, not real people, and that the bulk of criticism is usually directed at the designers of the characters. Video game designers are predominantly men. When interviewers ask game directors and designers why none of their female characters have small breasts or own shirts capable of covering said breasts, it usually comes down to "titties hot".

3) Here's where you come in, and somehow draw the conclusion that I am being sexist, or maybe that women with tiny waists and large breasts need more representation in the media. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not really sure what you were going for there, apart from the bit where you accused me being a redditor.

4) I try and seek clarification on your weird-ass comment. Maybe you thought you were replying to someone else? Maybe you're suffering full-sensory hallucinations and Quiet from Metal Gear Solid is leaning over your shoulder and telling you to defend her fanservice-y honour? I don't know. I give more examples of common sexist character design decisions, in the hopes you will work out what this whole post is about.

5) You pretend that not being invested in things is the superior position, and I realise that you just don't know what the fuck is going on.

Has that clarified things for you, or do I need to start making a chart?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they misread the tone of your comment as being supportive of "who cares? They're HOT!" like a good thing, instead of being frustrated. Text, internet, etc

(Anonymous) 2019-08-03 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, it's like the other anon said. Your remark was a little ambiguous and not nearly as comprehensible as your elaboration above. I mistook your tone for being one of those people who thought that because fictional characters are involved, then nobody has the right to get upset about how they're depicted. I apologize for my misreading of your comment.

You still seem like a nap might help, though?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
da

Their comment was perfectly comprehensible, dude. You just have the reading comprehension of a potato. Are you getting enough sleep?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
DA - You weren't the only one who found AYRT's comment ambiguous. I initially interpreted it the same way you did, and then got rather confused as the argument progressed.

"I attacked you but it was only because I can't read, why are you so mad???"

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
They're not real people, but there are real people with big breasts who will feel body-shamed by comments about characters that look like them. I think that's what the OP meant by body-shaming.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Please introduce me to these real women you know that have boobs that are two full sized watermelons stapled on to their chests and defying gravity while simultaneously having a 20 inch waist. Because I’m pretty sure they don’t exist and if they do their anatomy has probably collapsed on itself.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
I have huge boobs, and never have I once felt bodyshamed because the way these canons treat huge breasts is as male pleasure tools only. So go off, you fucking asswipe of a man who only sees tits as something you can fap to. Your concern trolling needs to get the fuck out.
