I think this place goes way too far in defending kinks tbh. Someone straight up said "fuck you" to an assault victim yesterday because they told OP that fantasizing about women getting raped for manpain is messed up based on their own experience. Shit like that is not cool.

Respond with some empathy at least, not dehumanizing someone because you're offended the thing that gets your rocks off upsets someone else. That's the height of "fuck you, I got mine". You can't go on and on about how wrong it is for antis to be mean to people who don't agree with them and then behave exactly the same.

Why are you acting like making a secret in a comm meant for secrets (you know, things that you wouldn't really go and tell others with your name attached because you are aware it might upset them) is the same as going up to someone you know got sexually assaulted and gush about your rape kink to them? I would love to see the actual conversation, because I would never tell a victim to fuck off, but if they told me that I should stop reading or writing something because of their own experience with it, I would politely tell them to stop reading my fic/ stop policing what I do, in spite of my deep sympathies for their situation.
Fiction is not reality and doesn't influence people who understand this difference. All fiction is created with this idea in mind and the correct way is to teach children to think critically about fictional content they consume and not sanitize and censor fiction, especially since there is no way to agree on where to draw the line. Even people in fandom who are pro censorship tend to make exceptions for fucked up content they personally enjoy.
