I don't use AO3 because every time I've checked, there just haven't been any fics (at least, none of the sorts I like) for my preferred fandom there. But my main fandom is small and older and, at least at one time, ff.net was pretty much the only place to find ANY fic. I haven't seen it make the jump to AO3, so neither have I. And for my secondary fandom love, which is much larger and is a property still producing media, I just find AO3 utterly overwhelming to try wading through. I just can't get used to it.

So I mean, in those respects, yeah, ff.net is better, but I think it's a minority preference based on a specific set of circumstances. FF.net definitely has issues, like I really hate the uploading system, really I think just about anything is better than that.
