We might try. LAst year, didn't get that many people.

He would too.

Most of, but not all of. There are still a lot of Christians who accept climate change, and even some Evangelicals who do.

I think he's fine at writing some things. He's just not great at writing dialogue.

Tough, but fair.

I'm definitely going to give it a shot! But this year, I'm not telling anyone (unanon) that I'm doing it. I've been really struggling with my depression this year (we're working on adjusting my meds) and my creativity tanked. I don't want anyone to know I'm trying it if I fail.

I was at a big dessert buffet and Spiro Agnew was there and he liked cupcakes with green frosting. It’s not the weirdest dream I’ve had about a famous person, but it’s definitely the weirdest famous person cameo I’ve ever dreamed. I’m 28. I didn’t even know I knew the guy’s name.

Here's a few according to my past journal entries:

-Having Tom Cruise as a "Social Economics" teacher (whatever the fuck that is) and giving oral philosophical exams

-Jim Carrey and Will Smith being in a movie together where random shit happened and there was no real set genre or plot

-Arnold Schwarzenegger smearing his knuckles with peanut butter and randomly punching a dude in the face

Pretty mild, though, compared to other dreams.

Re: Tiny Fandom Gripes

I'm going to interpret this as tiny gripes to do with fandom, and not, gripes to do with tiny fandoms. I have no idea which was the intended meaning.

My gripe is that like 95% of the Starker fandom writes Tony way too Dommy for my liking, yet for some reason they almost always make him the omega in A/B/O fics. Which is the one place where I'm completely disinterested in seeing him as anything other than an alpha. I don't get it. You'd think people who were super into OTT Dom Daddy Tony would be all over the chance to make Tony an alpha and yet...mostly they are not.

Totally get it, and that was kind of me last year. I was in a job that was really fucking with my head and I felt like NaNo provided me the escape I needed. Hope you enjoy yourself and find the right level of meds. <3

Planning on it. I'm a bit excited because I have several ideas I like.

actually wait

[personal profile] caecilia 2019-10-26 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
a comment below reminded me that I had a dream where Jim Carrey's wife (not his irl wife, idk who that is, a wife made up in my dream) used to be my babysitter and was now trying to murder me

awww yeah high 5

I think it just leads me a little to their aesthetic. Like a fan of Ariel tends to have a more beachy/hipster aesthetic, Mulan fans tend to have a balanced masculine/feminine aesthetic, etc.

I've never done NaNoWriMo "officially" but I'd like an excuse to push forward on a fic I'd been writing these last couple of weeks (based on a fic idea I'd been sitting on for many years, hoping it would die... instead, it has apparently evolved), and to complete the final part of an existing fic. It might not "count" but that doesn't bother me.

I don't know what OP actually had in mind themselves.

My understanding of "Christian misanthropy" is that it's founded on the idea of original sin - the idea of some kind of foundational sin in human nature, a sinfulness or inclination to sin that exists for everyone, even the most new-born baby. The specific details of what a given person does, or what constitutes "sin", are sort of immaterial for the concept - the point is that every person is a sinner.

None... unfamiliar with Homestuck

Highfive back!

I'm especially happy because last year was a nonstarter for several reasons and it's nice to look forward to it this time.

(Anonymous) 2019-10-26 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
It's a shame that dialogue is rather important in a movie script...

(Anonymous) 2019-10-26 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
The dad is one thing. But I've also seen some of them who love Dabi (poor abused little villain) but hate Bakugo. Because Bakugo told another kid to kill himself when they were little. While ignoring Dabi actually has killed plenty of people. (I suspect they justify this for themselves by thinking Dabi's victims probably all deserved it for some reason because I can't explain that hypocrisy any other way.)

I read it, I hate it, please let Homestuck die a peaceful death.
