What things do you NOT find scary that are supposed ot be?

For me, it is the exaggerated features (too big smile dundundun). it just looks silly.

Clowns and spiders. I can't take the former seriously under any circumstances (even if a clown were coming at me with a knife there'd be a part of my brain thinking "Gosh, you look pathetic.") and where I live the latter aren't poisonous so I just leave them alone and don't fear them.

It's hard for me to really get scared by a lot of the monsters, like werewolves and vampires* and the like. They're entertaining creatures, sure, and yeah, if I actually were to encounter one for real I'd be freaked out by them...

...but since I know that won't ever happen, then I just see them as interesting creatures in a movie and that's it.

*Nosferatu being perhaps the lone exception to that.

I also can't get all that creeped out by demon possession movies, 'cause I'm not religious. If anything, the thing that unnerves me the most about those films is how the religious folks react to the possessed person, how extreme they're willing to go in trying to combat it.

Clowns. I've always liked clowns and they've never scared me. Not even like, It-type clowns.

Anything fictional. I'm more likely to find things based on real life scary. Serial killers are scary to me.. Monsters are not scary to me. Clowns are not scary to me. Also bugs are not scary. Not even in giant form. Nor are snakes.

I'm not scared at all of spiders. I think they're cute! I could almost understand being scared of the venomous ones, but I know so many people that even hate completely harmless house spiders-- and I love those the most! They eat other bugs!

Also jumpscares don't seem to work on me at all. I guess I don't startle easily? Growing up with an older brother got me too used to having something pop out of the dark to "scare" me, hahaha.

Spiders are adorable. Everyone else just needs to get with the program.

I'm honestly just sitting here thinking, "Do these people have totally different prehistoric ancestry to the rest of us? Did their prehistorical ancestors exist on an island without spiders for millennia or something?" Because yeah, most spider fear is completely irrational, but it's also COMPLETELY involuntary.

If you've ever seen a cat lose it's fucking mind with fright because you put a cucumber behind it while it isn't looking, that's exactly the fear response spiders arouse in me (and presumably a lot of people).

Clowns. They're just boring and annoying. Zombies, I just find them disgusting, not scary.
But most of all: Skeletons. We all have one inside of us. They always smile. And they should logically fall apart any second because there's nothing holding those bones together.
