you should be able to blacklist words that appear as text in posts, not just tags, though either tumblr's internal blacklist function or something external like xkit. the benefit of the internal one is that it should work on the app/mobile as well, even if it isn't as powerful a tool.

I tried blacklisting bts with xkit and it kept hiding other posts eg behind the scenes for fandoms tagged bts and I've developed a slight hatred towards the band over it because dear god some people just reblog every single bts post they can in one huge chunk.

Does Tumblr let people know when you unfollow them?

Kind of, by way of showing your follower count. If someone notices their follower count dropped, they can go to their list of followers and look for who's missing. It's easier the less followers you have, but I have around 100 and I can always figure out who unfollowed me.

Well, I don't like it when people believe their banging just because they want to see it, but thinking they're friends isn't really that bad. I'm not familiar with the interpersonal relationships of the BTS members, but it's kinda nice that people are happy about the possible friendship between members? It's not that much of an unrealistic reach to think they get along with each other.
You can be as bothered as you want about it, it's just a strange thing to get worked up about, imo.

Why are you assuming they don't genuinely like each other? I agree the optics are important but it'd be hard not to develop some affection for a group of peers you do literally everything with.

And also, what's wrong with people enjoying the optics, even on the off chance it's not true? What's the harm in people getting warm, fuzzy feelings from something that looks like friendship?

getting the warm fuzzy feelings about it does not require you to go on at length about how it's definitely real and not fake

Yeah, I think you need to just unfollow your friend instead and tell her why you're doing so because even if what you want happens all she'd do is continue ranting about them only in a sad way. Unfollow her

There are always these people in any bandom that think that their group is so pure and cares so much and of course they aren't playing up for the promotion just because fans eat that stuff up. The realities of the music business seldom matter much to them. And I say this as a fan of quite a few boybands over the years (I totally bought into to it the first one or two). I mean, every single one has later come out and said that there were issues that the fans didn't know about and some bandmates couldn't stand each other by the end. Now, that doesn't mean that all the stuff that the fans see is fake, just that it's probably much more carefully curated than they might think.

Hey OP, maybe get some therapy for the obvious depression that causes you to be so completely cynical and bitter at the world that any ounce of other people's happiness over something so stupidly mundane makes you wish them misery.
