Had a bit of a relapse thanks to my super busy Monday and Tuesday. So I took the day off and just rested. Read some top ten lists on Listverse. Watched Doctor Strange. Took a nap. Played with my kitty.

I slept 19 hours (waking up twice and having to get up to pee) and it was beautiful. I haven’t slept more than, like, 4 hours a day for the past million years. JUST yesterday I was thinking about the time in college when I miraculously slept for 22 hours and wishing it would happen again. Well, wish pretty much granted.

Now I wish for a year or so off from life obligations and having to think about anything, but not with some bastard genie twist like “congrats, you’re in a coma”.

Slept late, left some of the groceries I bought in the store so had to go back for them, and realized I have no clue how to fill a pastry bag.

Recommendation for the pastry bag! Use a glass or measuring cup and fold the sides down over the rim of the cup/glass so you can pour/scoop into the pastry bag without getting it all over the top edges of the pastry bag!

I tried that, but thank you for the suggestion! I think my pastry bags were just too little. Plus, meringue is like friggin glue!

Oh no! And yes, it is, lol. My problem with pastry bags is I can never seem to cut the hole JUST RIGHT.

Bleh. not too good not too bad. I've left groceries at the store before, I always get worried they'll think I'm trying to steal someone elses.

Completely blew a presentation at work despite preparing last week and part of yesterday... sigh...

Worked up the nerve to take the pain meds the clinic prescribed for my foot inflammation.

Contemplating going to bed early, but I won't rest well either way.

It's cold and wet outside and I wish I could spend the miserable winter somewhere warm and sunny, by the sea. :(

Trade? Ideally I would skip summer entirely. I live ten minutes walk from the beach in australia if that tempts you.

I'd happily trade San Antonio summer for a northern autumn or winter.

Weren't you just freaking out about people driving around when it's in the mid-30s? I'm pretty sure a northern winter would actually kill you.

Please send rain and cooler weather; I live blocks from the beach and it might reach 80 here over the weekend, and our rainy season starts in September but it hasn’t so much as drizzled.

My roommate just called to say she chased a raccoon out of the chicken run and she said there were only 9 hens. I have 10 living in the coop. Or possibly, I had ten. I had eleven last week until a raccoon got in and killed and ate one. I’m terrified I lost another; I raised them from babies and they’re pets, not food. Since the time change, I’ve gotten home two hours after dark on my earliest workdays. I tried to patch up the run over the weekend, but clearly I didn’t do a good enough job. I guess I’ll just leave everyone shut in the run all day tomorrow. It’ll suck, but not as badly as being eaten.

I'm so sorry, I hope your roommate just miscounted and you didn't lose another hen. Losing a pet is always hard, especially raising them from so young! Here's hoping the racoon will move along and keeps away from your hens in the future!

I didn't dye my hair like I thought I would so now I must do it tomorrow so it can look nice for the party on Saturday.

Not great. I'm feeling all irritable and moody due to a bunch of different things that are going on and I'm hiding in my room so I don't take it out on anybody. I hope tomorrow's better.

Not a terrible day overall but sometimes I need to remember that I don't have to read things on the internet when I know they will upset me. (For example, YouTube comments.)

Nice. I wound up going to a friend's birthday party when I didn't even know today was his birthday.

My mom was in a car accident this morning, so...not great. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the car may be totaled and mom is understandably really depressed about the whole thing. She was on her way to the hospital because her friend was having a medical procedure and wanted her to be there, but she was in such a rush to leave that she forgot to take her morning meds and had a small seizure on the way, which led to her rear-ending someone. Now she doesn't want to drive anymore and I still haven't gotten my license back (I couldn't get it renewed in 2014 due to frequent dizzy spells that several years' worth of expensive doctor's visits and painful and/or otherwise unpleasant tests finally proved to be panic attacks) so I can't drive for her yet. I was going to go take the test tomorrow after my appointment with my psychiatrist, but it's looking like that's not going to happen. Of course, if the car turns out to be unsalvageable, then I guess it won't matter quite as much, as we'll just be back to bumming rides from friends and family like we were last year before we all scraped up enough money to buy this car.

I just wish my family and I could catch a break once in a while.

That sounds horrible! I'm glad you mother is well for the most part, and that the car is salvageable. Best of luck for your Ma's friends surgery, and hopefully you'll catch a break soon enough!

I'm sorry to hear this. :( I've been in car accidents before where nobody was hurt, and it's surprising how demoralizing the experience can be. Best wishes to you and your mom.
