The secret is about the show being unfair.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Point stands

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, not everyone gets redemption. Are you also mad that Cersei, Ramsey, Stannis, or Joffrey didn't get a redemption arc before being killed?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Cersei died in the arms of the man she loved.

And those characters were all always horrible, Dany was a hero before the end.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Dying in the arms of the man you love isn't redemption. By that logic, Dany was redeemed after dying in the arms of the man she loved.

And Stannis wasn't always horrible. He was well liked before burning Shireen.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Jaime was comforting her, Jon was killing Dany.

And Stannis killed his brother and tried killing his nephew, he was always horrible.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, Stannis killing his brother/nephew was war. If you are going down that route, Dany HAS been evil all along. She killed her brother as much as Stannis killed his. She burned people alive. She crucified people. She burnt a woman alive for just doing what Dany asked her to do.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
The woman who tricked Dany into killing her unborn child while leaving her husband a vegetable to punish her?

And comparing Viserys, who regularly abused her and who threatened to cut her baby out of her womb, to Renly is ridiculous. Plus, what did Gendry do?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Sansa fed her own husband to dogs as she watched, smiling, and we're still supposed to root for her.

And before you say "but he was an evil man!" re-read your own comment.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Dany crucified a bunch of nobles, some of which were innocent. Is that NOT an evil thing to do? Are we cool with crucifying innocent people just because they have money? Even back in season two she was dreaming of burning cities to the ground. Sorry, Dany has always been power hungry and would do anything to get the throne she thought she was owed.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure it was because they had slaves, not money.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
+1

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Except...some of them didn't have slaves. She didn't just kill slave owners. She killed all nobles. 163 of them were crucified. She didn't know who was guilty. There was no trial.

Anything except allowing thousands of people to remain enslaved when she had the means to free them.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
That would be a lot more laudable if she'd actually stuck around to do the long, hard and tedious work of rebuilding the society to ensure that the freedmen would remain free, instead of fucking off to Westeros to pursue her real goal when things got hard. Not to mention leaving a freaking sellsword in charge of Meereen. I bet it took all of a month before Meereen fell to the masters again and Daario did a runner because he didn't sign up for ruling a fractious, war-torn and starving city. But that's the thing about Daenerys. She's a conqueror. A damned good one. But she's a shitty fucking ruler.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Why would dying int he arms of someone you love be redemption? I don't think you know what that means.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
She still got a happier ending.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Lol. Okay.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-23 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
She was crushed to death by rocks. But okay, maybe she did get a relatively happier ending. Maybe it was in proportion to her body count. Burn down a sept --> get crushed to death by falling rocks, in the arms of the man you love. Burn down an entire city and half a million people --> get shanked by your former lover and current nephew.

Lena said it was the first time Cersei was at peace.
