I don't have any. I prefer to read about sex that doesn't sound like people are acting out porn.

I'm curious (honestly! not trying to start anything, I'm just genuinely curious), what does that look like to you? Maybe I've just gotten lucky, but most of the sex I read is very like the sex I actually have, with a little soft-filter fantasy on it to tantalize.

I guess it's more that the focus is on the emotional connection rather than what's happening physically. I don't like reading descriptions of bouncing breasts (every book written by a man ever) or a play by play of what goes where and dialogue about how big/hot/tight any of the bits are.

I'd rather hear about how it feels and how they feel about each other.

I prefer the sex to be the result of them having feelings rather than feelings being the result of having sex.

I don't know if I explain it well. I'm certainly not repulsed by sex and sometimes I'm even disappointed when I'm reading something and the author uses the 'fade to black' trick.

I just find kink detracts from what I like about sex.

NAYRT - This is interesting to me, because there are parts of this I totally agree with and parts I feel completely the opposite.

I prefer the sex to be the result of them having feelings rather than feelings being the result of having sex.

I ONE THOUSAND PERCENT agree with this. I've never been the least bit interested in fics where my OTP fucks before they really know each other. The relationship they build between them is why I want them to have sex. Without it, I'm bored. It's just two people fucking. So what?

a play by play of what goes where and dialogue about how big/hot/tight any of the bits are. I'd rather hear about how it feels and how they feel about each other.

This, OTOH, I feel the opposite way about. I mean, I DO like when you can see how much they love each other in the scene by how they are with each other. But for me, loving sex and horny, explicit, filthy sex are not antithetical in the least?

I want all the explicit descriptors. Tell me again about how big/hot/tight/throbbing/aching/leaking/etc the bits are.

I just find kink detracts from what I like about sex.

On the other other hand, this is something I can relate to. I like filthy smut but I've never been a big fan of formalized kink. Like, "A pulls B's hair and bounces B more forcefully on their cock"? HOT. "A and B do a scene where A calls B 'Sir' and does as B says"? I could not be less turned on.

I'm not arguing with you here; tastes are subjective and all valid. I just think it's interesting because you conflate some things I definitely don't conflate myself, which makes me feel strongly the same and strongly different at the same time.

This is very well put, I feel the same way.
