I'm off work today and tomorrow, and I hadn't had a lazy day off in awhile so I did nothing today but get stoned, take a showe and a nap, and watch college basketball all day, woohoo!

Meetings. Being cross trained at work. Trying to decide what I could learn to change jobs.

Being home from work with a heavy cold. Since I'm a teacher, this means having to write up detailed plans for the substitutes I might hope for will have to do, and correcting the work my students hand in online. Fun times.

I went to the Apple store to get my iPad unlocked after I forget my passcode. I would have taken care of it myself, but my computer refused to recognize the tablet when I tried plugging it in.

I have a group project due today. I hate them so much. I did all my work and citations and emailed them last Monday to the person in charge of putting the slides together, but I just checked the slides and he hasn't put anything up. All he had to do was copy and paste it. That's literally his only job. I'm just a little irritated about that.

Worked and did some grocery shopping. I didn't get everything I needed even though I went to a couple different stores so I'm debating whether I should go tomorrow or risk it and go Wednesday. I'm supposed to be off tomorrow, but there's a small chance I'll have to go into work. If I don't have to I would like to stay home and try to get some stuff done, but if I'm out anyway I might as well stop at a different grocery store and see if I can find what I need...IDK, I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow and see what happens.

Just got off work, gotta feed my pets and shower when I get home. I want to go for a walk and get the last couple things on my Thanksgiving shopping list, but I need to get to bed early because I have jury duty tomorrow. I’m hoping I can just do my one day and go back to work or go home.

Now that my job will pay me for jury service, I wouldn’t mind doing it in the summer if it didn’t conflict with cons/vacation, but since the days are so short right now, and I take public transit, I’ll be leaving the house before sunup tomorrow.

Had a migraine on top of foot pain, so mostly slept. Right now I'm watching Whose Line episodes while I wait for meds to kick in.

My fellow Americans...

(Anonymous) 2019-11-26 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
What are you looking forward to the most this Thanksgiving? What do you look forward to the least?

Re: My fellow Americans...

(Anonymous) 2019-11-26 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Most: stuffing.
Least: leftovers.

I look forward to the ham. I love ham and it's basically the only time of year I eat it. I also love the time off from work and hanging out with my family. I'm not looking forward to all the drama that's gonna crop up because some of my cousins have decided not to spend Thanksgiving with their families.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-26 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Most: seeing my brother
Least: seeing my parents

I gotta be honest...most traditional Thanksgiving food is underwhelming, IMO. I don't like turkey. That sweet potato dish with the marshmallows is too sweet for my tastes. Stuffing is good, mashed potatoes and gravy is great. I don't get the point of cranberry sauce, but then I don't care for mixing sweet and savory much.

The most: time off, good food, lots to drink, special food I don't usually eat any other time of year.

The least: I work in retail (I actually have a warehouse job but I'm also responsible for production) so its always nuts on Black Friday. Fortunately I have it off this year so I'm going to brunch with my husband.

Re: My fellow Americans...

(Anonymous) 2019-11-26 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
We already had ours because the non-jerk members of my family are going to be out of town on the actual day. It was really nice...delicious food and no drama.

So I'll just be hanging out at home and relaxing, then doing some online Black Friday shopping. I want to cook something at least a little special for dinner but I have no idea what yet.

I'm debating making a trip tomorrow to this international grocery store that has all kinds of cool stuff but it's almost two hours away and I'm not sure I feel like driving that far (although making a couple hour drive to go to one specific place isn't really unusual in my family like I feel like it probably would be for a lot of people). I guess I'll see what I'm in the mood to do when I get up tomorrow morning.

Most - my brothers and daughter (and sis-in-law and niece) coming to eat at my house.
Least - fucking cooking (I'm just doing the turkey/stuffing, one pie, and possibly one side, but still.....)

Most: mashed potatoes and corn casserole (This amazing thing my mom makes that is really good) and pecan pie.

Least: The fact that my sister is bringing her dog and cat and so my cat will be miserable and suffering for the next few days (sister is coming tomorrow morning and leaving Friday).
