I feel like there's something wrong with this logic but I can't put my finger on it

(Anonymous) 2019-12-09 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
fetishism

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
1. most ABO is still anal, despite the mpreg. It's het for people who dislike vaginas
2. pornworld scenarios with bundled fuck-or-die, soulbonding, and knotting is a very different fantasy from realworld trans issues. both are perfectly fine things to want out of a fic, but they sure aint the same.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-09 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Because kinks don't work on logic, I guess? I'm also curious why you think A/B/O fans should be more interested in trans dudes, but no mention of futa and trans women?

I'm not sure what point you're making but this is definitely a thing that exists

I'm honestly not sure who the majority of futa fans are. I like it because I like imagining I have a dick. I'm not trans, so a trans woman character wouldn't hit the same thing for me. But I don't know why other peopl are reading futa.

I feel like transwomen should be more popular.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Based on what? Slash is still way more popular than femslash

For better or worse, trans!fic is almost always some degree of issue!fic, whereas ABO can ignore the RL echo and state that some guys can get preggers because that's just how it works in this universe.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Not enough dicks.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm into that, but I think the problematic police might make people afraid to write it because it's a thin line between fetishism and representation with them.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
There has actually been an immense amount of trans male characters in slash lately (mostly because it's the new fancy fetish in town) so... idk what you want?
Now if the people who have that fetish would stop trying to sell it as activism and started tagging it appropriately...

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not into ABO so this is pure speculation, but transmen are female, ABO men are male. Perhaps that's why. I don't think your average slash reader wants to read erotica about females. Sex matters.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'd assume this is it, tbh.

Identification doesn't have much to do with biology when it comes to this, and people who are into ABO want dicks all round and logic be damned. A transman is still biologically female with female parts.

If I'm reading slash (and I am not into ABO because it's weird and I hate pregnancy related shit) I don't want there to be any vaginas.

If I wanted vaginas in my smut, I'll read F/F or Het.

I don't want more trans headcanons. I want people to be honest about writing girl!penis and boy!pussy again, and to tag appropriately. Like, if you're gonna be fetishy and weird just let folks know so they can find/avoid it as needed ffs

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
As someone who's really into A/B/O, the reason I'm interested in it is because it's completely made up biology (and associated culture) so I can make it into whatever I'm in the mood for at the time.

If I want omega males and alpha females to have both penises and vaginas, I'll write that. If I want my male omegas to have some sort of hidden pseudo-vagina which only opens during their heats, I'll write that. If I want a universe where alphas getting fucked is super taboo but my main character enjoys it anyway, I'll write that.

Plus heats and knots. AFAIK that's not a thing for trans men or women.

TL;DR: I'm the sort of person who likes imagining what sort of weird (and completely unrealistic) sexual organs the aliens of any given sci-fi universe have, so trans people are just too normal to catch my interest.

even with me being a trans man, i actually don't like reading trans!headcanons and whatnot in my fandoms. i've been told I've got some internalized transphobia or whatnot, but the truth of the matter is that it tends to trigger me something fierce and I haven't quite figured out why yet. i have no problem with cis men with extra bits or getting pregnant, but nothing makes me hit the back button faster than untagged trans headcanons in a fic or in my a/b/o.

it's even more funny considering that i was really into the transformers fandom, where there were all sorts of configurations for genitals, but i never had a problem with it.

Half of the fic for a favorite rarepair of mine involves one of them being a transman. Granted, that half of all of, like, 20 fic is by the same author...

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly! There are fandoms the whole a/b/o works for where I can get the appeal, but I'd really like to see more non-a/b/o fic about trans characters who love their bodies-- and whose bodies are loved by their partners!

(Anonymous) 2019-12-10 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
NB, for context - a/b/o does absolutely nothing for me, at all, and pre- or no-op trans men is the only explanation for mpreg I will accept in fiction. I don't always LIKE it, especially when the character doesn't like kids in canon, but I'll take that if there's no sex scene with conflicting evidence.

I suppose I like trans men in fics and sex scenes when it's, like... matter of fact? While issue fic is all very well, sometimes I'm just content with an OTP where a binder's left on or removed or just like mentioned, no surprises or questions asked. Call me easy to please on that front, IDK.

So far, almost all the fics with trans characters were too focused on the issue of being trans (understandably), societal acceptance, etc. A/b/o fic just have characters with whatever sexuality and body configuration the authors want them to have and it's not the main issue.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-11 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Completely unrelated to the actual content of this secret but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to post this off anon so: are there any trans ABO fics for the SECONDARY gender? Aka an omega who identifies as an alpha or a beta who identifies as an omega, etc.??

It's because people who are into A/B/O slash want to read about self-lubricating buttholes and dicks. Vaginas don't fit into that.
