Tom Cruise is also quite short but that hasn't stopped him from getting roles. It's racism, buddy, nothing else.

I was just coming to say this.

I wouldn't say nothing else - if anything, Aladdin was a pretty bad movie in general and that never helps. But racism has a big part in it, probably.

But there are tons of other mediocre movies with mediocre actors that still get jobs. If it was just a bout quality, Adam Sandler would not have a career, for example.

Aladdin might have not been good to you but it made a lot of money and that's always THE deciding factor for execs in Hollywood.

I was thinking of Tom Cruise, too. Though to be fair, he's older and had a lot more time to get over that obstacle before he became a huge, bankable action lead. Ahaha, and he's got the Church of S backing him, of course.

Tom Cruise is not only white, he's rich and has had decades to establish himself. Those are major advantages he's got over this actor.

He had major roles in 4 films in 1983 when he had only one of the three advantages you've listed. Which one was it?

A bit of a stretch to call some of those "major roles" and only one of them is a film where people still recall. Cruise is playing high school kids, where height is not yet going to be a big casting challenge.

I'd say being the lead of a billion dollar Disney remake beats every single one of those movies in terms of fame AND money, but at that point in their respective careers, I suppose you could say they're doing comparably well. Cruise will go on to do even better, in terms of acting roles. Massoud hasn't had that chance yet, so it's a bit soon to say that he's losing.
