Which media traumatized _you_ as a kid?

(Forgive me if this's already been a topic recently)

The bit in Men In Black where the alien takes over Edgar's body made a deep and terrifying impression on me

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Should NOT have watched that at the age I was. I still can't watch it as an adult.

Uh... that bit in Jaws 2 where the guy's in the boat and his arm's in the water and he lifts it up and... NO ARM.

In all fairness, I think I was about 7.

E.T. In fact, I recently had an Anxiety attack because of an unexpected E.T popping up while browsing the Web. That's how bad it is.

I saw Twister way too young and remember being terrified in the theater. Watching it now, I think it's cheesy, but as a kid? Horrifying!

Raiders of the Lost Ark... yeah, that scene. Right after the Ark is opened. Also, the dude rapidly aging in The Last Crusade.

As an adult, I can't stop laughing at the outdated special effects, and Raiders has become my favorite in the franchise.

Hmmmm. Not much, weirdly. I was weirdly untraumetizable when it came to media/fiction. I actually would sneak down in the middle of the night to watch horror movies to try to find something that scared me.

But there was this one book. Bruce Coville's book of Nightmares. The very first story, where this kid is dragged under his bed and forced by this scary monster to bring other people's nightmare's to them. The dragging under the bed part freaked me out for a few years.

That Star Trek episode where a flower kills a red shirt. I was like, three or four when I saw that, and had an inexplicable fear of flowers for a while. XD

Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. Which is of course an extremely silly movie, but I was little and not 100% convinced it couldn't really happen.

There was that one Tom & Jerry episode where Tom gets fucking guillotined at the end upset 6-year-old me so badly that I couldn't watch anything related to Tom & Jerry for years.

Also, from preschool to 3rd grade I went to an ultra-conservative Christian school that taught, among other messed up things, that celebrating Halloween was a sin, as was watching Care Bears, TMNT, My Little Pony, Ren & Stimpy and a ton of other harmless media that supposedly had "pagan" or "vulgar" influences. For some reason Disney stuff was generally considered okay, but my 3rd grade teacher told us The Lion King was bad because Rafiki did witchcraft or whatever. This same teacher, however, one day decided to show the animated Legend of Sleepy Hollow movie in class, which freaked me out and ended up giving me nightmares for weeks. She then spent the rest of the week randomly making fun of me in front of the whole class for being scared by it until my mom found out and went nuclear on her. The worst part is, up until then she'd been my favorite teacher.

I have one that still fucks with my head and I'm no kid, but I'm not gonna say what it is.

The Rankin/Bass The Hobbit

I was pissed off anyway, because I didn't want to watch it, the animation and songs were just not for me, but they showed it in school and we had to. Then that Gollum was creepy as hell and scared me.

Also, Gremlins.

When I was very young my sister showed me the clip from elfin leid where a young girl has her puppy ripped from her hands and beaten to death by a group of her classmates. It shows the girl watching in horror as the school boys bludgeon the animal behind a desk as the blood slowly seeps through the barrier.
She also showed me my favourite characters arms being broken on multiple occasions.

Err... yeah. I still have that scene burned into my mind, but this is already dark enough, and I have a hard time talking about this as it is.

Outer Limits. There was an episode where this light (the only sign of some murderous entity?) moved along a wall... and of course my bedroom window was situated just perfectly to throw the a moving strip from the headlights of every car that turned onto our street.

It's a gorgeous movie (but rather old and the animation is dated now) but urgh the Metal Men gave nightmares and anxiety for years. (Oddly enough, my siblings--2 years older and 1 year younger than me--ever had the same problem so it's just me?)

I remember watching part of The Black Hole on TV and there was a scene where a guy gets eviscerated by a robot. It wasn't blood and flying entrails everywhere, but as I recall the what-is-implied-to-be-happening-just-off-camera was pretty graphic. That freaked me out terribly and I don't remember what else happened in the part of the movie I saw (which I think was through to the end) but I remember feeling depressed by it.

Apparently, it was a big deal that this was Disney's first PG-rated movie (rather than G), but if the PG-13 rating had existed then I think it should have gotten that instead. (I haven't seen the movie since, so maybe it wasn't that big a deal.)

I assume there are a few on here. Suggest some performances or songs to watch/listen to to get them. my niece likes them so I want to try to see what she likes.
