I've never watched a single minute of this show, but at this point I have to wonder - when will it end? Is it just going to keep going until we have Harry and Meghan's wedding re-enacted on TV, less than a decade after it actually happened? Because that would be - forgive me, 'The Crown' fans - weird as fuck.

I think it's weird as fuck in general to make a TV show about people who are still alive.

ayrt - oh yeah, hard same, but it is what it is

It's better to make a series about someone still alive, so at least then they can manage how much slander and lies you make up about their lives. It's always worse to make a profit just because the dead can't say anything.

Is it always worse, though? What about a situation like Bohemian Rhapsody where the living band members had too much involvement, so the one dead guy ended up with the best, most nuanced portrayal while everyone else revised their own histories to the detriment of the film?

The first two episodes made me realize how much I would prefer a series about George VI

I don't think it will last that long. I can see it going to the death of
Diana but that's about it.

There already was a Harry and Meghan TV movie

The Crown's plan from the start is six seasons, the cast switching out every two. So we've had the young queen, we're moving on to the middle-aged queen, and the last seasons will be the older queen and probably the new young royals. Where it'll end? I honestly think the show runners are hoping QE2 will die before it's over so they can have a closed story of her life. Fuck them if they are thinking that way though.
