An Australian journalist working for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (I have to spell it out because America) was upbraided on Twitter by some little twerp who wanted to complain that the ABC didn't have "balance" in their reporting... on the bushfires. Yes, the bushfires which have burned millions of hectares and killed a number of people.
Said twerp didn't actually explain what the everloving fuck he meant by wanting more "balance", though in context it's likely he wanted every update to end with "Also this is not the fault of the government even though they've been arse-fucking the environment at every turn, dinks".

Anyway.
Said Aussie journo, Laura Tingle, gave this twerp a nice concise response: "Fuck off".
Since then the conservative media have been having the vapours about her lack of 'civility' and suchlike, and everyone else has been cheering raucously because of course we have.

DA

I'm delighted that the Scomo promo people have been having a hard time getting him anywhere near the evacuation centres without people chasing him and calling him a fuckhead on camera.

They really want to get him on camera appearing remorseful with some appreciative citizens to fix their PR problem and the results have been hilarious.

Good on her. Balance, my arse.
I read/look over a bunch of firefighting twitters every morning, just to keep up (I work for the fire department in my town) and we are all watching with horror and sympathy what's been going on in Australia.

I hope you and yours are safe!

Good for her :). We need more journalists to come right out and say that to those kinds of idiots.
