I was once into minor/adult pairings. When I was a minor and was crushing on older people/chatacters. I'm sure I was/am not alone in that. From what I understand from other kinks (like noncon), a lot of the time people are projecting on the younger/weaker one, so they absolutely would not be interested in a relationship where they were the adult dating a minor.

I will admit that it squicks me to see minors in sexual situations even in fiction or to see them sexualized as in loli/shota. And I knew someone who was into young characters who ended up getting in trouble for chatting with a 16-year-old. So I'm not saying everyone has to not be upset by it/want to see it or that there is no bleed over with some people. But I'm saying it isn't a 1:1 correspondence, where someone into it is definitely going to abuse people in real life. And I agree with the OP that focusing on things like this meaning that those people are perverts while people who only like wholesome things are never perverts is a dangerous mindset to get into.
