I don't make secrets about it, but I have gotten into discussions about fandom's I'm barely in. I'm usually scrambling at fact checking just to make sure what I'm saying isn't totally ridiculous. It goes better than talks about fandoms I'm actually in, since then I only go by memory, which isn't always completely reliable.

Was the show any good? I didn't bother to watch it after I read that they decided to add some sex scenes to "make it more appealing to modern audiences" and that it got cancelled after the first season.

With Donna we got to know her for multiple seasons, and it was her character growth that was completely removed that some people get more upset about. With Chloe the mechanics of the game, when redoing or going back in time is the main function, the choice to 'undo' what happened to her is a more acceptable option.

Oh, OP :(. Not silly at all, that's perfectly understandable. If music can conjure up happy memories, it's only natural it'd also dredge up painful ones as well.

I'm really sorry that this creep has affected you the way he has, and that he's fucked up so many things you used to enjoy besides. I hope you have and/or can find whatever help/support/etc. that you need in general, and I also hope that someday you can get to a point where you can find yourself once again enjoying some of the things you can't listen to now, or that you can find new things that you can enjoy and which can bring you some comfort and peace. If you're talking about age gaps where both characters are adults, I completely agree.

But if you're doing the whole "fantasizing about fictional adults raping fictional kids is totally fine and doesn't mean anything" thing, then fuck you.

Obviously you can think whatever you want, but as someone whose ex was into underage/adult pairings and would gaslight me into thinking that I was the weird one for being bothered by it, and who was later convicted of molesting his niece, I refuse to accept the "~it's okay because it's fiction!~" argument. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe that you can be into that kind of thing in fiction and not have the slightest interest in doing it in real life.
