Your opinion is shared by literally every character on the show who isn't Yennefer. No one thinks she should have a baby except her, and she only wants one because she can't have one.

Yeah, this is a good point. I kind of like how everyone else on the show is like "WTF, you'd be a fucking terrible mom, move on with your life."

Yennefer does only seem to want a baby because she can't have one. She also has a power complex, so I think she likes the idea of something relying on her - I feel like she had a line that said that to some effect, only more nicely. And I'm sure she also is rather lonely, and is looking for a connection, even though she's a total asshole.

It's bullshit that she had her choice "taken away" though. She defied orders to go through with an unnecessary operation so she could be pretty, and consented even after she found out the cost.

Overall, if her plotline absolutely HAD to be "wants a baby", which inherently is a bit cringey, I don't really mind how it played out. I didn't like Yennefer at all post-operation but she does have an interesting story and motivations, and I like that the rest of the narrative is willing to be sharp with her.

the whole ranting and raving about her choice being taken away drove me NUTS. she consented whole-heartedly! she PUSHED the guy to do the procedure on her! he said something about how she couldn't be awake during it and she was like nope, it's fine, so if they had only had her be knocked out with herbs and then wake up to find out that she was made infertile, THEN her rage and desperation to reverse it would make sense. but she walked into this with her eyes open, so I don't even know
