Can someone else take this one today? I'm too damn tired.

I started too, but then I was overcome by a great wave of apathy.

I'll have to look up more pictures of the woman in the secret, though, hopefully free of sexist body-image commentary. Unlike the secret.

122. It shouldn't be what fanfic is for, it should've been in the series. But Macross Frontier was absolutely shit, one of the worst Macross series i've seen.

139. I normally really love the Viral fans. I adored their obnoxious and hyper ways when the series was airing, they were always a great entertainment and loads of fun. You on the other hand, are a knob and understood practically nothing about the show.

139, not OP

[identity profile] poison-prison.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, at least the person who posted actually had reason behind it. I have to admit, I kind of agree. Maybe they worded it wrong, but it does seem like the rest of the cast was trying to be something they weren't, and Viral wasn't afraid to show it.

*shrug* Either way, it's an ass move of you to act like because someone's opinion varied from the norm, that they are any less educated than you are. Perhaps, because their opinion varies from the norm, they could have learned more in different areas.

And I'd probably have to say shut up to you, for stereotyping Viral fans. Dear, I know many Viral fans who are more mature, educated and calm than any other fangirls/boys.

Sorry for sounding rude, but I think I'm the only one in the world who agrees with whoever posted this. And you went about replying in a very wrong way.

Re: 148

Late anon is late, but yeah, it is. There's actually also some SZS's trademark random 3-second-long fanservice of Jun and Sensei in the show proper, too.

But oh lawdy, you should see the one with Sensei and Ikkyu in the latest Newtype if you think this is ship-baiting.

116. Ahaha, oh Kirby fandom. Considering there are people there shipping Dedede and a snail, and with Kirby... I doubt you are being particularly dirtyminded. Those two seconds are fandom considered perfectly valid material.

136. ... Well. Now I'm imagining Uncle Phil and Krang slash. My inner child. It is weeping.

If you're that keen on personal attacks, you can have my bloody troll. Here, have my inbox, it's full of spew. She harasses me with great intensity in 6 - 10 week spurts, 3 or 4 ties a year, and it stopped being even remotely funny years ago. Just scribble down all the insults and curse words you can imagine, and put them in random orders thirty times a day, and you'll have it. Personal attacks by anonymous Internet trolls are rarely clever.

Yay for curvy women on TV! (we truly do need more variety, and she's gorgeous) Still, saying that's how a REAL woman looks like is kind of offensive. People come in all shapes and sizes, and whether you're not a size zero or curvy as all get out, you're still a real woman.

The fanfic? It's here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2743237/1/Kirby_64_Out_of_Darkness_Comes_Light It's a novelization of Kirby 64 and has some rather odd moments (mostly concerning Ribbon's behavior towards Adeleine and some unexpected crude humor), but I like it. (If I remember correctly, it doesn't really have much in terms of any pairing, much less DededexAdeleine, but for some reason the constant arguing was really cute, even if I see Adeleine as a lot more mild-mannered.)

As for the Rule 34 of them, well, there were only about a couple pictures, and I only thought of them as humor, personally (I believe that if anything ever actually happened, it likely wouldn't be physical), so it's nothing big. I'm in a place where I can't bring up anything NSFW, but I found it on the infamous paheal.net (so NSFW it's not funny), if you're really desperate. I can't vouch for quality, either.

I...don't know. I have my shipper glasses on, even though I never take things like that seriously. Besides, I base it more off two seconds of in-game interaction than I do fan-made stuff. Although it helped, in a weird way.

150 -- You're taking some flack for your phrasing, but your point is valid.

As long as stick-thin is worshiped as the ideal, people wishing to lash out at that image are going to step on some toes, because they've been hurt, repeatedly, for years, and they're trying to grab a positive for once. Let it go, people.

122 And I think his character was sort of useless altogether.

126 I don't think that coat really looks like his at all except for the fact that it has a hood.

132 Unfortunately with D (maybe even DD, doesn't seem like my bra fits after all) cup boobs I can't really bind mine. Even though there's like a million people I'd love to dress up as, and they're all male.

136

142 Good job, boasting about how you can kill mass amounts of people better than a fictional character can. Next you'll be moving on to bigger and better mass murderers. You'll be telling the world how you could've done a better job than Pol Pot. Or Stalin. Fucking moron. It's sad that the majority of Death Note fans are tards like you who completely missed the entire point of the series.

147 Well, tripping can be fun. I've only done it once and I don't really see the whole "alternate consciousness" stuff, but it did sort of inspire me as an artist. Maybe it didn't affect me the right way because I'm bipolar and my brain chemistry is different. Eh.

150 I would have to go on a diet to look like that. Cause my waist is sure as hell not as flat as that. I don't think many women normally have an hourglass shape; it's hard to get, even if you are in physically good shape. It's pretty much just genetic

151 I really need to get around to reading the manga. I've only seen the OVA and it seemed weird in that condensed, short OVA kind of way.

Re: 150

[identity profile] yatsirch.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean! I sorta have that shape going on in the hips and waist region, but I sure as hell am not packing that kind of bust. But, I guess mine are kinda cute and I at least don't have to worry about gravity's effect on 'em *had some flatness angst as a teen, but got over it*

Genetics = brutal.

I'm beginning to believe that wading through the crappily written Hiei/Kurama fic is a lost cause and any other pairing gets buried beneath the flood of it. What's with people writing them so ooc that they're no longer recognizable as the characters they're supposed to be anyway?

That's why anymore I stick to rec lists, which tend to be mostly... you guessed it, Hiei/Kurama. Again, it's a losing battle for me there since it's rare that I'll even attempt to look at that pairing. Still, people like it for some reason and I'm not about to kick at them for enjoying the pairing. More power to them.

It's when those batshit fuckers come onto one of my fics and make their review nothing but whining and bitching about how breaking Hiei and Kurama up is a sin, that I want to eviscerate someone. What more can I do though? I've written enough Hiei/Yusuke at this point that it's all that people are expecting from me anymore (except when I jump into crossover phase).

Re: #103

[identity profile] blueutopiah.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You have to love the pairing to wade through the crapfic that makes it up. Trust me on this. I think my favourite this week begins with: "Hiei and Kurama have a teenage daughter named Youko." WHUT WHUT. *braindesk*

The reason the rec lists have so much of them is because they are the most popular pairing in the fandom. And I have contributed to that, but I have also helped out the other pairings. You can't deny I slant toward the Hiei/Yusuke and Hiei/Karasu anyway. And Yusuke/Kurama and Kuwabara/Kurama are a blast to write.

Girlie, even in my Hiei/Kurama fics I get the batshit. I mean, christ, I'm writing their favourite pairing and they still tell me that Hiei isn't supposed to be on top because of that dumbass height rule. Please....

138. I can't believe I'm saying this, and maybe it's the booze talking (gah, I'm such a friggen lightweight), but...in that case, I think fandom is well shut of you.
I feel a little upset, saying that, because I'm the first person to preach love and acceptance of all fan-types in this fandom. I think it's important that the old-fen not mock and despise the new-fen, that the new-fen make the effort to discover their roots, that the people who violently oppose the idea of the Doctor having any sort of sex drive at all not scorn the die-hard Rose/Doctor shippers, who are made genuinely happy by their ship, that the R/D shippers acknowledge that the Doctor's had a long life with many, many companions, etc etc.

But one of the core things about Doctor Who is that The Doctor Will Change. It happens. And if for some sad reason you can't accept that and decide to pitch a hissy-fit and "quit" fandom because the Doctor won't be the same pretty-boy actor he's been for the past thre (out of forty, mind!) years...

Then yes. You never really liked this show to begin with. And that's a shame.

This show is about so, so much more than which actor happens to be playing the Doctor at the time. Each one brings something special to the table, and if you're giving up before even seeing what the new one brings...well, that's a crying shame. We've all dealt with watching our Doctors regenerate. Deal.

140. Despite the fact that I'm pretty certain she's a lesbian and regards men as evil...I'd kinda like to see it. It would be interesting...and probably even hot.
