Some people can get really weird when it comes to liking villains, it's like they can't stand the idea of liking a character who isn't wholesome and pure or something. I swear it had to be a joke but I heard people try to defend some of what Kylo does with the excuse that his father died... like really?

I mean, Kylo KILLED his father. Literally ran him through with a light saber. And I have no idea how you could spin that as an excuse for his behavior.

And by "you" I mean anyone in general, not you specifically, anon. (I just wanted to make that clear.)

I know right. I'm not even in the Star Wars fandom, and I know how ridiculous that is. In a very convoluted way, I can kinda see how someone with very high family values might not be able to comprehend that Kylo could kill his father and not be completely devastated by it. Of course that's coming from someone who never watched a single Star Wars movie.
I only heard about it second hand so I'm really hoping they were just joking...

But...he WAS devastated by it. We see that in TFA and Snoke berates him for it in TLJ. "The deed split your spirit to the bone."

Maybe Kylo shouldn't have deliberately stabbed him in the heart while Han was trying to help him, then.
