I wonder if a prequel would almost be better. Then you could have a younger Mal and a younger Zoe, and if you focused on them, you could... conveniently leave Jayne out.

Someone summed FIREFLY up like this, and I think it's apt: Firefly was good because it didn't air long enough for Whedon to fuck it up.

(Also, the rest of writing staff deserve way more credit than they get. It wasn't all Whedon.)

I STILL not get the difference. Like, I've considered myself bi for almost a decade now, but I never even entertained the thought of excluding trans or nonbinary (or really any) people there... but apparently that's called pan now? Where did that even come from? Where there really so many bisexuals who had at BUT NOT behind their sexuality that we needed a new word? (I mean, I don't mind the word at all. If people feel more comfortable with it, whatever, but I'm confused.)

Basically the whole discussion continues to baffle me and I wonder what it's good for. Bigoted people literally don't care. They'll use different words to describe us.
