My brother's cancer may have returned to the same spot- two years later- OR it may be something else. He also has something low-risk in or near the prostate.

Anime binge with my friend - we're watching Fruits Basket, My Hero Academia, and maybe some Haikyuu later.

Teleworked, so literally haven't left my apartment. It's been great but now I feel guilty for physically moving so little.

Had a busy day at work. Now lamenting about how my mother can always be broke and trying to talk her into making a budget.

Got stoned, masturbated, watched the Simpsons, went on the internet, ate some leftovers, took a nice shower, read some fic, played games on my phone. A full day, lol.

I worked today, got my serviced for the cross country move, and am now worrying about my doggo, who's acting like she's trying to cough something up. ;;;

Okay. Wow. I just got home. Left my house at 7:15 this morning, so 12 and a half hours ago.

Two hearings this morning, then stopped at starbucks for coffee at around 9:30, then went to the office for a client meeting, then two more hearings at 1 where I got yelled at by a judge because my boss had misinformed me on what was supposed to happen at the hearing (and also didn't inform me it was actually a cover for a completely different attorney). And also, the files he had given me to file with the front desk clerk were not complete, so she gave me a hard time.

Then I went back to the office to return the files and inform my boss about what happened.

Then I went to Applebee's because I needed food and also to do some work. Ordered a bacon burger and coffee. Worked there for an hour and a half. Then drove to the site of my evening meetings and worked some more.

Led two meetings in the evening from 5:30 to 7:20.

Finally headed home. I'm now sitting on the porch in the freezing cold so my poor cat who has been stuck alone all day can have some porch time.

I'm not doing dinner. Going to crash when she's done, then I have to get up at 5 tomorrow to finish the two files that need to be done by noon tomorrow and I just don't have it in me to finish tonight.

What are your favorite adaptations?

(Anonymous) 2020-01-22 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
From any medium to any medium.

Lord of the Rings. I can't help it. Even though I find more and more issues every time I watch, I still love them because they give me that Middle Earth feeling. They are are just so good to watch. I just pretend they aren't an adaption or are an alternate universe.

The Dune and Children of Dune miniseries are excellent.

MCU, well, most of it anyway.

Many of the Star Wars movie novelizations, but particularly the Revenge of the Sith one. Such a great book.

Legend of the Seeker. Not an accurate adaption for sure, but that's not actually a bad thing in this case. The show is superior to the books by far.

That's all I can think of at this moment, but I love good adaptions and I'm sure there are lots more I'll remember when my brain has had enough sleep to function properly.

I like nearly everything that was done to translate The Magicians trilogy into a series.

I also really like the adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo into the Gankutsuou anime.

The Dark Night for sure. A number of the Arkham games are pretty good too.

Condiments/Sauces You Could Drink?

What are some condiments/sauces you like so much you would eat/drink them on their own?

The really thin sweet chilli dipping sauce at the thai restaurant.

For me it's mustard, hot sauce, soy sauce, and horseradish. Alternatively I would absolutely wear toasted sesame oil as a perfume.

I love maraschino cherries and will eat a jar of them and then drink the liquid. I do the same with bread and butter pickles and their brine. And I could put Thai sweet chili sauce on pretty much anything, too.

A lot of oil and vinegar/vinaigrette dressings I've had over the years would probably be tasty to drink. But I love the taste of vinegar. Balsamic is too strong to straight-up drink, but there are others that would be delicious as a drink.
