Trying (and failing) not to vent or be sad too much to people.

Valentine's Day would be bad this year, I knew that going in; doesn't mean i gotta burden everyone else with it.

Not much. I slept in until almost 10AM and the only thing I've done is walk a check to the mailbox. I'll watch some tv, have leftovers for dinner, and then I'm working tomorrow and Sunday. Pretty quiet day, lol.

Got my hair done this morning. This afternoon I had to file a bunch of stuff with the court. The parking lot was full and had to park 3 blocks away, which my foot and head aren't happy about. Also got a work project done.

Right now I'm resting and watching the Vet Life with my parents. I'm just really tired. Probably going to bed by 8.

Eating tacos right now. :D Had to deal with a couple assholes at work, so I'm happy to be home and looking forward to just relaxing this weekend.

Watching Sanremo! Day three part one, I'm loving it as usual! Other than that, I'm just relaxing, trying not to get sick since I'm going to a hockey game on Sunday! So excited!

I usually work in the accounting office of a grocery store. I worked on the floor today as extra hours, and I kinda wish I hadn't. I didn't realize it would be quite that busy. There were ridiculous lines at 7am when I started, and it never let up. I wad running from issue to issue at the self check out area, generally trying to deal with all 6 at once plus lines.

I think the worst might have been the person who came up in the scooter and asked for help. I happily helped scan the soda and water, as they were big. I also was completely willing to scan the universal discount card I have. Her having me scan and bag all of her groceries and even put in her credit card, as she couldn't even be bothered to do that, was a bit much. I was annoyed that she didn't go to a line instead, as she basically had me be her cashier so she could have a short line rather than actually wait for a cashier. And it took away from the other people I was also supposed to be helping.

And there was likely a lot of theft, as there is only so much I can watch all the lines when there was constantly issues for me to deal with. I'm pretty sure one guy stole about $50-100 in flowers, as all I saw him scan was $4 in baby's breath, but he had two complete assembled bouquets in his cart. (Usually the people assembling bouquets give the customers all of the bar codes of the flowers they use, and most people are good about scanning all of them. I'm pretty sure he only scanned one of several bar codes based on the bouquets in his cart.) I asked him about it, but he said he'd already bought the rest, and I'm not asset protection, and there is really nothing I can do about it, but I'm annoyed. For me it's even worse than just stealing flowers, as he had someone assemble the elaborate bouquets too, instead of just taking anything premise. Oh well.

I also got cursed/yelled at a couple of times because our store no longer has plastic bags. That was not my decision. That was not even a store decision. That was a state decision. So what they thought yelling at me would accomplish, I have no idea.

Most people were fine, though, thankfully. It just made me very glad that 95% of the time I'm not on the floor, and I don't think I want to do it again anytime soon.

And now I'm wide awake at midnight because I meant to take a 20 minute nap when I got home at 5 and slept through my alarm, only waking up 5 hours later. I don't want to actually do anything, as my schedule generally involves working at 5 or 6 am, so I don't want to get too wound up and go to bed late enough I sleep in a lot tomorrow, messing me up more, but I can't go back to sleep either. So I'm reading/puttering around on the internet. Fun Valentine's Day!

I don't know names...the one where the girl is getting surgery to make her look 'normal' and 'pretty' and everyone else looks like mutant pigs and she's sent off to live on an island with other 'deformed' people.

The one where the girl doesn't want to be 'transformed' on her 18th birthday into looking (literally) like everyone else, but they talk her into it.

The old guy with the books and the atomic bomb (though that one gave me horrible, sympathetic anxiety and anger when i saw it as a kid. SO UNFAIR.).

I like Nightmare at 30,000 Feet (way different than the original) and Replay (although it's kind of depressing). The Wunderkind is kind of interesting, but suuuuuuper depressing (not sure I'd recommend this one unless you like being sad or you're really into John Cho).

I'll pick some from each version of the show:

Original: There's the classic, well-known ones, of course. Also, "Twenty-Two", "The Hitchhiker", "The Obsolete Man", and "Deaths-Head Revisited".

1980s: As noted in another comment, "The Burning Man" and "Need to Know", as well as "Dead Run", and "Button, Button", are a few favorites.

2002: "It's Still a Good Life"

2019: "Replay", "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet", "Six Degrees of Freedom", "A Traveler".

Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I am visiting my sister for the long weekend. We are baking homemade pizza tonight. Tomorrow, we are going to try the local Ethiopian place and Sunday we will be going for brunch. Will do a ton of shopping in between all that.

Tomorrow taking my computer into a shop. Have to prepare for a competition I'm running that is Tuesday evening and an interview with a temp agency Monday morning.

Meanwhile, my thyroid levels are way off and I'm just tired all the time. Headache is better but not gone. So I'll probably sleep/rest a lot. I want to try Locke and Key, maybe. Mostly just sleep as much as I can.


Mmmm, homemade pizza. Enjoy! What kind are you making? My mom made homemade pot pie and strawberry rhubarb pie because it is Valentine's and those are some of my dad's favorites. They are some of mine too, so dinner the next couple of days should be nice.
